so i started making some aya, yay! while i am not interested in an extraction per se i am open to doing a more full on extraction if it turns out to be easier and i was planning on employing some of the ideas around extractions in order to have an extra concentrated brew free of excess plant matter...so i started with extremely finely powdered caapi (some was the powder extract from forestrx some was finely powdered black caapi) put it in a pot with some water and ACV, heated it for a little while then put it in THP that was whipped up from a milk jug with cotton ball (wondering if possibly the shape of gallon milk jug make for bad filtering) so basicly, it would not filter! i left it there for hours and got nada....so i put it in the freezer for now but i want to finish this brew soon. any suggestion for dealing with this apparently unfilterable cappi goop?
i'm editing this post to be a potential answer to the original question. i adjusted the percolator. the main difference being the addition of various filtering layers of different consistencies. i would encourage experimentation with various potential materials so as to have the maximum potential variabilty for filtering the many things of life, currently i have used rough fiberous material of the same plant (caapi) and a loose cheese cloth over the basic cotton ball...so for so good it looks like im getting at least 10 drops a minute which is a success in my book. thanks for tuning in
