Why thank you I am greatly honoured that you think so... Just window light, indeed I'm in Africa so they get to be nourished by the beautiful African sun. They also get a lot of love and attention truly these little guys are my pride and joy.

I am jealous. How many years until they are "ready". How long do they usually live for?

I am growing my peyote's for cultivation purposes only for the time being as I don't think I could bring myself to eat these guys as they are incredibly precious to me...

Here are the dosage amounts for Fresh Peyote

Oral Light

3 - 6 mid-sized buttons = 50 - 100g

Common

6 - 12 buttons = 100 - 150g

Strong

8 - 16 buttons = 150 - 200g

Heavy

15 + buttons = 200g +

Peyote's can live for many decades though it greatly depends on the amount of care they are given and their growing conditions.

Indeed I couldn't agree with you more... I'm going to do my best to remedy this sad state of affairs as soon as I possibly can, it certainly will not do. They need their mineral friends too... Razz

Why thank you, may I ask are you unable to grow peyote's due to your geographical location, perhaps try cultivating them indoors? I wouldn't want you to miss out on growing peyote's as they are such special cacti to nurture and tend to. ♥

I'm in the same boat as DeDao. It's not that I can't grow them, but that the seeds are illegal here.

I would love to grow Peyote! I'm quite jealous of your beautiful specimens, Aegle.Pleased

Mr.Peabody

I'm so sorry, is there no way that you could buy a peyote pup? Or is it to risky even owning a peyote, its incredibly sad that these precious cacti are so intensely regulated. I wish I could do something to remedy the situation...

Thank you so very much for your more than kind words, I just try my hardest to look after these guys and nurture them the best that I can. When you do acquire some yotes please don't hesitate to share some pictures with us, it would be very much appreciated as I seem to have such a weakness for peyote's. Probably my two greatest weakness peyote's and crytals...

no its very nice acacian!(although you too could use some rock/crystal friends Smile

awfully large pot though-
much easier to grow some root rot in a large plastic pot that doesn't dry out as fast.

also - looks like lots of organic matter. rec'd soil w/ high mineral content and low in organic matter
(looks really moist- are you in the southern hemisphere?)

Acacian

I am truly touched that you feel that my peyote's are beautiful specimens. Wow your peyote has so many pups, I wish that my peyote would be so prolific. Do you keep your peyote outside may I ask? As perhaps try keeping him indoors as I cultivate all my peyote's indoors, I also make sure to carefully place them near the windowsill so they receive plenty of light.

Growing them indoors ensures that they are incredibly well sheltered and protected from unexpected rain and other weather elements. I have also heard that birds and other animals have a keen fondness for peyote's as a couple of times friends of mine have had pigeons come and eat their baby peyote's and even had budgies attack them.
