What are your thoughts on this certain entheogen?

I've done salvia over 20 times, mostly 40x extract, one time i did 60x, and a couple times 20x. 40x was my favorite.

I have had a numerous of crazy trips, but i don't know, when i hallucinated, it wasn't like i actually saw it, it was like it was a dream, i knew it was there, and i saw it, but i didnt SEE it or it wasn't as apparently clear like right there, yeah, i can actually see it with my eyes. i don't really know how to explain it.

This drug is, okay, brings me to new places, or either just spikes my mind to a weird crazy place for a couple minutes.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Not my cup of tea. It's like DMT's mischievous cousin. At first your taking a large toke of really harsh plant matter then WHAM suddenly your a tree from lord of the rings being carried by elves wearing tunics to a castle on top of a pile of salt ruled by a 20 headed lemur named Zalu. All of this while inside of a washing machine.

So far... after many doses of salvia in smoke form.. I like it quite a lot...
Although i want to learn to quid it for a more controlable longer lasting journey..
At proper doses.. it relaxes me ..and [lets me inside]..to experiance life in its more pure form..
Salvia is not for everyone..its not for a party experiance...its more like ..[mana].. found in the desert to quench a spiritual hunger..
Without it..[so called normal reality]..[for many].. is veiwed through filters that limits ones insite..[like walking around with a [locked cage] around your head]
At proper doses ..i maintain a good level of control and it does me no harm..
There are good drugs ..and bad ones ..one must learn the diference..
just my opinion..

It is an extra-ordinary herb. I've had some incredible spiritual experiences on the extract. I have a lot of respect for the Shepherdess, as She is known. I would also like to try the quid method someday. Smoking plain leaf is good for meditation I find although I haven't ceremonied with Her for a very long time - feels to me like it's something so Sacred + the experience is so real (feels even more real than consensus reality). She likes to teach in symbology, ie: our lives as a piece of a puzzle, (our lives as) pages in a book, (our lives as) frames on a film reel, and so on. Transcendental is an apt word to use to describe Her, IMO - for me it is like hearing a Tibetan bell ring as a sign to wake up into the dimension She reveals. Would love to visit the Mazatec, who use it traditionally, one day.

Kate Bush - Invisible

I found a book on how to be invisible
Take a pinch of keyhole
And fold yourself up
You cut along a dotted line
You think inside out
And you're invisible

Eye of Braille
Hem of anorak
Stem of wallflower
Hair of doormat

I found a book on how to be invisible
On the edge of the labyrinth
Under a veil you must never lift
Pages that you must never turn
In the labyrinth
You stand in front of a million doors
And each one holds a million more
Corridors that lead to the world
Of the invisible
Corridors that twist and turn
Corridors that blister and burn

Eye of Braille
Hem of anorak
Stem of wallflower
Hair of doormat
Is that the wind from the desert song?
Is that the autumn leaf falling?
Or is that you walking home?

haha, love this. I sometimes feel as though this is what it is too, I sometimes feel like i get a bad perception on everything, as if my feelings of things and people now are completely wrong and i shouldn't be feeling such ways, for example about people i love and hold very dear to my heart, sometimes it scares me because it makes me perceive it this way, it's like it makes me change into a different person, like i'm turning evil somewhat. I do get VERY angry VERY fast while on salvia.

One time i was smoking it with a friend in my room watching tv, and as i was zoning out my friend tried to talk to me about something random, and i blew up in his face for no reason. Confused

I liked salvia the few times i tried it. 25x was the extract. Seeing flipbook memories of my childhood was fun but the last time i smoked it i ended up in a maze corridor with no recollection of what i was or where anything resembling reality was. Coming back to reality was really weird too. Kinda fun but i prefer dmt as it's less dangerous in my opinion as while i was in the maze i was walking around in real life and fell down some stairs. My sitter thought i was fine and decided to go to the loo.

Haven't touched it since. I hopefully will one day though.

Salvia is an amazing plant but gets a bad rap because of it's easy availability to idiots.

IMO it has even less recreation potential than DMT which is another reason people find it tricky. I still haven't worked with it extensively, but I think it has as much 'wow factor' as DMT, but the reintegration to reality is a little confusing. DMT reintegration for myself is like being born again wise and aware, whereas Salvia's akin to being born a disorientated child, by no means in an immature sense though.

With Salvia I also have more trouble figuring out what's real and what is hallucination and I often forgot I took it.

It aint kids play.

A friend of mine has a similar reaction pretty much every time he takes it. It's usually enforced by an emotion that he thinks people have tricked him or something.

I've used Salvia for years, mostly plain leaf, but have gone through bouts of using extract. Very healing and sometimes bizarre plant. It can give negative experiences, it's not easy to guide the experience...one stray thought can completely change everything. But one gets used to that, things can change with a thought in consensus reality too...

I have forged a bond with this plant, and I cherish it. My plants are like children I fawn over and make sure all their needs are completely satisfied.

However, this plant is definitely not for everyone. I find people who really enjoy this plant are a special breed, the way they think and the lives they have are anything but mundane.

Haha, I love that literal analogy.

The experience tends to make no sense symbolically to me personally. It is like DMT without the "spirit" part. I feel lost in the salvia experience instead of finding something about the self or the universe.

i expereminted with it a good few times but not for many years, on the whole it never agreed with me either, my body and my skin always felt like pinpricks an uncomfortable sensation, and as for the trips, a lot of them it felt like my visual perception of reality suddenly froze and then started repeating shuttering to the left each time giving the sensation i was being dragged out of my own body in a very unfriendly way, this would usually build upto a point then i would lose sight of everything and come around in a totally different spot to where i smoked the pipe in the first place disorientated and confused.

there was however one experience i had where i smoked a large amount of x10 extract and when i closed my eyes i saw the universe as membranes kind of bubble like, and they just kept expanding and expanding into infinity, was very beautiful and had none of the weird body dragging and memory loss.

Tried it a couple of times, always weird/strange and not insightful. After a particularly stranger trip I quit experimenting with it altogether.

That said, would like to give the quid method a try someday.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

There is not really much to say in words that could convey to anyone what this plant is really about. Most people never get it anyway. It holds a secret though.

Very true! I believe it does hold a secret, but many people don't like the effects it gives so they don't venture further and try to understand this plant.

You have described my experience perfectly.

My two smoked salvia experiences, from 7 or 8 years ago:

1) Smoked a hit of plain leaf from a bong, while listening to one of my favorite recordings - Bill Frisell's 'Good Dog, Happy Man' (very relaxing music. Recommended! ). Laid back on the bed and closed my eyes, found my internal landscape had shifted to the street where I grew up as a child. Then I sank into the 'ground' which by that point was a foamy mix of pastel pink and green tendrils that engulfed whatever body sensations I still had at that point. Psychologically I had an overwhelming sense of surreal familiarity that was similar to, but not the same as, nostalgia. Hard to describe beyond that. Once I was fully engulfed and 'underground', so to speak, there was also a sense of some feminine nature spirit present, which was comforting in a way, but also a little strange. It was not unpleasant in any way, but when I came back it just seemed weird.

2) Smoked with a friend a year or more later. One big bong hit of plain leaf. Laid back on the floor and found myself in a cosmic bubble soup, a matrix of foamy goo and I was also foamy goo. I used to have dreams as a kid that were of floating in an energy matrix, but this was different space entirely. Floated around for a bit and then a large orange fluid lozenge like thing, like a one celled animal or something but my size, approached and then passed right through my body. This set up a series of vibrating tremors in my belly that made me absolutely explode in a fit of laughter. It's not like there was anything funny in my mind, it was a 'physical' sensation that was like being tickled but from the inside instead of from the skin. I came back and laughed for several minutes. Laughed so hard that my friend also got caught up in the laughter for several minutes. But when all was said and done I didn't have anything like a revelation or insight at all, it was more like a really wild ride.

My friend smoked her hit and she too came back laughing. Once she regained her composure she told me she had turned into the paint on the leg of a small table she had in her room when she was a child. Surprised That's part of what amazes me about the trip reports I read, the perceptions are often so specific. I could almost understand thinking you are paint, though that is already pretty weird. But paint on the leg of a small table she had in her room when she was a child is several steps of weirdness beyond that. I read a report where someone turned into the letter S on a sign on the side of a train. Very happy I mean, what do you do with that? Wut?

For me Tryptamines turn the world into poetry, everything becomes just absolutely imbued with significance and meanings bounce of other meanings in interrelationship to yet other meanings, and on and on... After the peak everything I look at seems to resonate with an inner beauty and goodness and a deep and satisfying euphoria. Instead salvia just left me feeling bewildered.

I expect it is a plant that needs to be approached gradually. The reports of reverse tolerance tend to reinforce this. But for me smoking just kicked it into gear so fast that there was no real time to make sense of a single experience.

I'd like to try a quid someday.
Images of broken light,
Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

I think...Salvia seems [way more spiritual],, [than a smoked DMT trip?] that fires you out of a canon into oblivion so fast all you can do is hold on for dear life!..
But Oral DMT can be a spiritual experiance..

all natural [Salvia divinorum]. has a long history of being spiritual medicine that can do good things for the person involved if one mind is right place..
I find smoked salvia a fast ride.. but i doubt as fast as DMT can propell someone...
my opinion..

I think Salvia is not better understood because of the industry that has cropped up around it. Grow your own organic Salvia leaf and smoke that and you will see what I mean. Salvia is really a divine plant; the multitude of extractions are what taint it. I could smoke real salvia leaf all day long, it is fantastic.

I'm not going to write a whole trip report on my salvia experience(s). I tried some 400X years before I learned about dmt. We didn't know what we were getting into. We thought it was like some H*gh Times legal fake weed. It seemed fishy that the shop keep gave us a printed sheet of instructions. (first non-pharmy ever that came with instructions, I think)

It was one of the most extreme experiences ever. I was sure I was dead. I had my body ripped apart by a giant wheel of hands (like homer in the Simpsons movie -thanks Boob Lady). I saw the realm where "god" creates new people. It's called the Hollie Boom Drux. Seriously. I was lost. Then I found my body parts. I put myself back together and was reborn.

It was more real than everyday life.

I've had way more experiences with DMT. For me DMT is the more 'human' route to the same plane. Honestly I got way "further" with the salvia but it wasn't comfortable at all.

I'd like to try an oral tincture some day though, or chew some. I hear that is an easier way to integrate into the experience.

I wonder in either case... Are the entities wondering why we only show up for a second now. For centuries people have been taking salvia and DMT orally and existing in their space for a long while. Now we "blast off" and crash back to earth in a matter of seconds. If I was one of them (if you believe in such things) waiting for us to show up I might want a longer visit...

...

I’m not sure what you tried, but it wasn’t 400X salvia. 400X salvia is pure salvinorin A. It is a white crystalline powder. It can’t be smoked – it must be vaporized. A strong dose of salvinorin A is 2mg, which is a very tiny amount.

Based on typical methods of preparation, most commercial extracts rarely exceed 20X. But even 20X salvia extract is very strong – it contains about 1mg salvinorin A per 20mg of extract.
