OK, i have started many threads about negativity i feel within this community.

As i have often expressed i feel uncomfortable with an attitude of standing with your back to society and not wanting to be a part of it, to make it better.
But i never felt any real hate against any of you...anger yes, but hate no.

All i ever wanted was just helping some of you to become more positive toward society and the people in it so that you would be more willing to take part in it and change it for the better. I believed that i could show some of you that there is often another side of an argument as well, that can be worth considering and make you more understanding of things you don´t like.

But i realise now that my irritation about the negativity i often feel here is a major obstacle for me. I am simply not able to be diplomatic, to be patient, to be gentle and to expres myself in a respectfull and mature way because of it.

For what it´s worth, all i ever wanted to do is to encourage some of you to try to have a more optimistic view about society, mankind, etc...because i believe that it would make some of you more happy and also because i believed that some of you have views that are worth considering for others and that being more open and positive to society would make you more effective in sharing those views with those other people.

I care about you people and i still hope that you will share your views with others. Even with those people of who you may think that they are not open to those views. I think many of your views are valuable and i wish for them to spread into the world.

But this is not my place anymore. I just feel uncomfortable here.

Maybe i will be back someday, but don´t count on it.

With some of you it sometimes felt almost as if i knew you personally and you have been good friends that have taught me a great deal. Icehouse and snozzle have especially taught me to always see the best in people.

I think that for me the time has come to move on. Maybe that also means moving on from taking psychedelic´s...i have more responsibilities these days, than i ever had before and my own wellbeing or 'personal growth', simply can no longer have the priority they have always had.

At the same time, for those who´d care, i can tell you that i´m doing well. Maybe better than ever even. None of you should worry about me. There are just other people these days, that rely on me, and that has changed my perspective on life and my place in it. I am happy with that.

It just doesn´t feel right anymore for me to be here now.

Goodbye and i wish you all the best.

I'm sad that a long term member of the forum feels driven to this. I don't think that the feeling you describe resides within as large a number of us ion the forum as you think.

I can only speak for myself, but I see no reason to be against society. Whether we like it or not we are very likely to be a part of the society and culture many seem to dislike. The only route out of society is to be a primitivist hermit and nobody here is one of those, after all we are taking advantage of many things that come from the system that some seem to dislike.

I have at many times in my life lived a questionable life and also been anti-everything at times. I see this as being a stepping stone. This is something that I questioned and through the needs of everyday life that must be led in the tandem with the rest of society.

Some here are still fairly young and have some time to learn about life, I think many will mellow over time. I didn't believe that your words, mine or those of anyone else will have much effect on anyone. This is a change that must be made through life experience. We must learn these things for ourselves. We can give pointers but to expect to induce change is a recipe for stress and unhappiness.

We are likely to see a larger amount of anti-society feeling here as due to the subject matter of this forum many feel disenfranchised, many of us have seen the sharp end of society's wrath for our lifestyle, which sure enough brings some to feel anger. With time though many will realise that to work this game it must done from within rather than without. There is hope and change will come for most. To be honest I think given 10-20 years and a large percentage of us here will be straight as a die citizens.

I wish you the best for the future and the crazy game we call life, and hope you feel you can come back and join us sometime.

Didn't this happen once before with your thread bye? Then you came back with I' m back. Now, you're leaving again?

Polytrip, I've enjoyed your posts over the past few years but is there really a need to keep announcing you're leaving, then coming back, then leaving again, then coming back, so on and so forth? If you need to take some time off from the interwebz then do so..... no use in creating drama and storming out because you don't agree with the opinion(s) of other members.

This is a DMT forum with people from all over the world living in many differing conditions. Why do some insist on dividing the community over politics and religion instead of focusing on the common denominator: psychedelics.

Hope you have a nice time away. If the trend continues we'll see you back soon! Smile

Stop i really hope this is not because of the thread " for those of you who hate the law " , if so Polytrip , dont leave just because a few disagreements over some issues , everyone is just expressing their opinion and views , and everyone also appreciates your prescence here

because of these disscussions a lot of information , positivity , good values comes to the surface , no doubt their are few disagreements time to time , yet the bigger picture speaks something else altogether ,

just dont leave the community due to some silly issues , take time to reflect if you need to , everyone here is on the path to healing , education and positivity , none here wants negativity to exist on the planet ,

what on surface might seem like certain disagreements might be nothing more than people being open to speak with you on what you write , people taking time out of their lives to engage in genuine conversations , people caring about what you write and posting back should mean something , hidden behind the disagreements there is a level of appreciation , concern and love that you are failing to notice when you decide to leave the community
illusions !, there are no illusions
there is only that which is the truth

I wish you the best poly trip and do hope you decide to remain or return here. Your opinions are valued and your contributions enjoyed. I've read many posts of yours that I felt truly pushed threads into positive directions. It is healthy for a community to have disagreements and differences in views, it allows stories to unfold on a much more real level for true progress.

The diversity among this group I believe is being understated in your posts, polytrip. You have honest and admirable intentions, but misguided IMO. Our society is what it is, and people are as they are. Share your perspective of this relationship, but don't be so let down when others can't see from your shoes. Just remember you can't see from theirs either. IMO the important part is to keep trying. I dont mean any offense with this, it is just how experience works. What is valid based on experience for one person says little about the validity for another person. Conditions can vary immensely in ways bigger than can be explained during focused discussions. Who was it, Elvis who said "walk a mile in my shoes..." I also enjoy The Beatles...

"
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
...
You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You'd better free your mind instead
"
"
and I sink down below, the surface is rage
Holding on to a boulder, surrender with grace
and I think of my first-born, these times and his place
and his beauty and wisdom and all gentle ways
Watches over his brother, like the lion he is

and he knows what he knows, and he sees what he sees
"
Hope to see you around.
Maybe organize a SHEShocked
Love
The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

Well, this explains why I haven't read a post by polytrip in a while. I've always had deep respect for polytrip and have always greatly appreciated his writings. I hope I don't offend him by criticizing his [perhaps misunderstood] reason for leaving...

I'm slightly confused about his criticism, because he was advocating society by leaving this community. The way I see it, forums like this one ARE modern "society". If, on the other hand, by "society" he meant culture, then I think that the idea of culture is something that we should indeed turn our backs on. After all, complying with culture requires that one's sense of personal creativity and freedom be partially sacrificed. I don't see anything particularly wrong with the idea of turning one's back on things. Psychedelic experience is all about abandoning what we know in hopes of finding something more... It's about turning one's back on the concept of normality; on the concept of identity.

Again, I don't know the exact context for his leaving. Regardless, as someone who has always enjoyed polytrip's thoughts and even felt honored to be posting in the same threads as he, I am sad that he has left. I hope that I did not contribute to his leaving. I wish that we had spoken more personally. I wish that I had gotten to know him better. After seeing and talking with the same people online for years, some of them have influenced my life as mentors and friends. There are so few people whose beliefs resonate deeply with mine, so I am just distressed to see one such person fall off of my radar. I feel a sense of loss.
Every day I am thankful that I was introduced to psychedelic drugs.

That sucks.

I sometimes stop posting for awhile, change up my routines, deal with stuff in the real world. Then ill be sitting there bored and jump on the nexus. Then I start posting for awhile helping people with extraction questions or issues with Vape technique. Or sometimes debate with Snozzleberry about gender classifications. Big grin

I even made a thread sayijg good bye cause I felt I needed to do some much needed internal work and felt that I should pause my posting on the nexus about my DMT use and deal with my own spiritual journey rather than trying to help others with theirs in real life. But then I dosed and just had to share it with you guys and get some insight. Either way momentary breaks are fine but a thread declaring it isn't necessary. Love you poly trip and hope to see you back.

You gotta let people be themselves. If they don't want your help then look elsewhere on the forum.

Sorry to hear that but I have to agree with a1pha on this one. There is not need for drama my friend. Just go whenever you feel like to go and come back again if you need to come back. Is that simple Smile

Enjoy your life what ever you do my friend. Sending lots of love to you.

Internet forums are funny things. It's crazy how quickly one can start to take them too seriously. I think they are a great rescource, but should always be treated with care. It's all to easy to get involved in discussions which turn into arguments. A lot of posters here are pretty head strong and sometimes one has to simply admit that they will not agree no matter what, but that's up to them, it's JUST a forum.

Thing is, a forum should be used for positive growth, and if it's not then one must reavaluate one's use and where it's going wrong. Is one simply expecting too much from such a diverse crowd? Is one not taking responsability to take enough 'time out'?? It's all too easy to get overdramatic of so called 'digital friendships'.

Like i said, i think this is a valuable rescource for information, but how deeply one delves and ALLOWS themselves is their choice. Nobody is forcing anything. The only dramas that exist are the ones that have been permitted to be created.

Sometimes just take a break is order of the day.If you choose to leave that's your choice. No one is forcing you to.

Good luck whatever you choose, Polytrip. Wink
