Hello Riley2MR2,
Welcome to the Nexus. Thank you so much for taking time to read rules here as well post such a well-written Introduction Essay. It was a pleasure to read.
I would love to read some of your experience reports - you mentioned shrooms and breathing. You could post those in 1st experiences in Hyperspace and just note it is not a first or not DMT or whatever. You could also post those in the Open Discussion Area. It would be a great way for us to get to know you better.
Yes, please do get Dr. Strassman's book, "DMT: The Spirit Molecule." In my opinion it is MUCH better than the movie. I really disliked the movie very much but enjoyed the book.
Riley2MR2 wrote:-What future do you see of this drug, if any? I mean if it'll become legal in some other places in the world, become more exposed (in a good way!) in the media. I'm saddened to see this so unheard of and illegal.
I see a tremendous future for this drug. Not only smoked freebase dosing but also ayahuasca's continuing loud insistance that she break out of the jungle and spread around the world. More and more people are hearing and reading about it in popular media. More and more references are appearing in popular media etc. Though you have come at a time when it's almost impossible to get MHRB a tremendous amount of research is being done on new plants and teks . . . . But, overall, I see most countries as stubbornly maintaining its' illegal status. Those that do not will be the ones that decriminalize small amounts for personal use of all drugs, such as Portugal.
Riley2MR2 wrote:-Do you think it's a good idea to try and get the ones you love to experience this too? Of course, judgement of their character comes into play here but yeah...I get the feeling after I experience breakthrough (which I'm going to love..I just know it) I'll want to share this with as many people as possible that I know will also enjoy it. Not in a forceful way of course, but slowly introduce them and see what they think.
Absolutely not. In my early days I would have said Yes! But, live and learn. Now, I have come to understand that all my ranting does is yield "She's crazy looks." The people around me know I have and consume it. If and when THEY feel the time is right, then they will come to me. In the meantime, I'm trying to shut down the ranting. I feel the best thing to do with friends and loved ones is to just show them via my speech and action what DMT has taught me. Don't talk, do.
Riley2MR2 wrote:How do you know this experience actually exists? Could it not just be an extremely strong high? As in, everything you experience isn't actually real?"
I do not. That is part of the mystery and I love it. I love that there is still mystery in life and that it runs so darned deep.
Common experiences could be explained away by the idea that the DMT is stimulating a face and/or body recognition area of the brain, paired with slamming 5H2A (or whatever the trip switch is) . . .
There is a very strong fractal/holographic nature to the DMT experience, at least for me. Thus, I see repetitions and patterns everywhere, but I do not really see that as adequate proof that the experience is anything more than heavily saturating my brain in a short time period with a powerful exogenous dose of an endogenous neurotransmitter. This is an area that has had a lot of in depth discussion, analysis and debate here at Nexus and the variety of opinions is diverse.
Feel free to ask more questions and I would love to learn more about you. Again, welcome to the Nexus.
