I'm loving that gif UC. I've definitely seen entities loop through themselves ad infinitum like that. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead

I like the idea of a wave node. That seems to envelope most geometrical theories I could think of to justify what is meant as spirituality in a shape to be a proper representation of spirituality. The idea of spirituality can be processed in many way, but the idea of the infinite and everlasting in spirituality is for the most part universal. Common belief among humans is that there is an infinite. The wave node seems to represent the infinite in a moving manner of progress. Whether the node simply does not move, it plays apart in a part of creating motion. This is why I like it over the idea of it being a circle, with no progress. Events cause effects, even ones we will not and never experience in our state of mind. So the node seems to pass this change along, while never changing itself. Thus the idea of a spirit is manifested. We begin to see ourselves as a unit. To me though I would say that a double helix would be an even better representation of your spirit. If our spirit is to have such an effect on our lives, then it must contain a rational existence. Therefor making our spirit an actual physical thing. It is a symbolic existence almost in the experience of flesh, but it does hold a place of accountability. For if we were to simply let go of our spirituality then there is no reason, or imposing spirit. There is no universal ideal, idea, or believe to manifest humanity. Thus, spirituality being a very hard thing to prove, it must show its existence to survive. Here it must play its role as shape, or common knowledge. This just simply unites all the aspects of subjectivity with a common quality. This would make it an infinite object, a universal code or blue print for it to take shape of. Of course taking this down to a molecular level would most likely diminish its actual shape in matter. This is why its been a subject commonly argued. So we are relying on a representation, that would most accurately describe spirituality. The double helix works because it keeps the idea of the node, but introduces the idea of opposites an infinite difference. DNA is the shape we most rely to identify ourselves. We are so in need of DNA that spirituality must have a high concentration there, it having the need to appear in shape. The double helix shows a complete infinite, that doesn't end or start. There are no boundaries to nature, we as humans can only interpret. The Unknown = A Place to Learn

I had an LSD experience once where I visualized my mind, body, and soul as a cube, pyramid, and sphere. I can't remember how they corresponded as it was a long time ago, but it totally made sense. 'Little spider weaves a wispy web, stumblin' through the woods it catches to my head. She crawls behind my ear and whispers secrets. Dragonfly whiz by and sings now teach it.'

Cyclical, certainly. I often visualize a figure eight, the symbol for infinity.

It's a pyramid (well two upside down pyramids) inside a cube inside a sphere. Either way, totally cool and balanced set of geometries however you spin it (pun intended ) I also recall reading some book on Egyptian spirituality (it was uncomfortably new agey, but it mentioned visualizing these three geometries together in a specific fashion I'm pretty sure. If I can find the excerpt, I'll post it.) As for the lower 2D representations of these geometries, together they can create a pretty significant set. The triangle that "squares the circle" is the face of the Great Pyramid at Giza. The circumference of the circle equals the perimeter of the base of the Great Pyramid. The "pyramid" inside the squared circle is shown in the lowest left portion of my artwork interestingly enough. To quote Miranda Lundy on her book "Sacred Geometry": Quote: The circle is the shape traditionally assigned to the Heavens, and the square to the Earth. When these two shapes are unified by being made equal in area or perimeter we speak of "squaring the circle", meaning that Heaven and Earth, or Spirit and Matter, are symbolically combined, or married. Fivefold Man exists between sixfold Heaven and fourfold Earth and Leonardo da Vinci's image also shows how a man's span equals his height, that this measure equals seven of his feet and other important ratios.
Amazingly, the Earth and the Moon square the circle, for if the Moon (diameter 3) is drawn down to the Earth (diameter 11) then a heavenly circle through the Moon has radius 7 and so circumference 44, the same as the perimeter of the square around the Earth. This works because pi, which relates the circumference of a circle to its diameter is practically 22/7. In Leonardo's image the Moon would fit above the man's head. Just want to repost a thoughtful, quality post. Thanks for this Mr. Roy. Recently discovered the double torus idea, drawn on and presented by Nassim Haramein, in the video I will link below. In conversation with an intelligent fellow now on the street, who apparently studied physics himself once upon a time, before life got more colorful. Fascinating visualization of two rings feeding into oneanother, but also hints at once the dynamics of a double helix.

I would associate this with many spiritualities, not just my own. The golden spiral is possibly the simplest fractal that exists in this, or any, universe. You see the same pattern, no matter how far you zoom in or out. At the same time, while it is unbelievably simple, it is also related to, and tied in with so many different things. Everything from the Fibonacci Sequence, to the growth of cauliflower and the arrangement of galaxies follows the simple rules laid our by the Golden Spiral. I often see it when I am traveling, and it serves as a reminder that there are great architectures that connect and house us all. Should you ever find yourself at loose ends, I highly recommend you look into The Golden Ratio, and pursue the works of Benoit Mandelbrot. The fractal, dynamical nature of reality is beautiful, and traveling only reinforces that to me. There are no truly simple, Euclidean shapes in nature. Everything is folded in, twisted around and expanded outward along itself, in accordance with the fundamental laws of our universe. "There are many paths up the same mountain."

Intangible, diffuse, fractallic, most importantly infinite. Language is inadequate at communicating such things imho. I am the cosmos, and it is me. Thats about as spiritual as it gets imho. "let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK
In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy. In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers... The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

I used to just like looking at and imagining stellated icosahedra, but after doing some peculiar thinking, I ended up believing that stellations can actually be used to map abstract formal relations in ethics (kind of like how there's the Square of Opposition in classical logic). So I now literally think that my soul, or the particles of my soul (to use inadequate terms), go something like this:

I am the cosmos, and it is me. Thats about as spiritual as it gets imho. Language IS what it's communicating. You are language, not word's or numbers, imagery and visualisation in itself is language, to BE is language. An idea jumped into my life from another philosopher recently whom I admittedly shrugged off, albeit still doing so to a lot of what he had to say but. There are no other shapes than the triangle and the line, the circle or dot could never exist in terms of a linear timescale. Lines overlap each other, creating layers (Important rule - LIGHT CANNOT BE BENT) the infinite concept comes from the line meeting itself at it's beginning and itself leaving it's end into higher forms. As you overlap lines they become more and more complex perceptions of shapes. I'm going to go with this. I think David Bohm would perhaps lightly chuckle at that image. As for tesselations: if we take the holographic principle to be fact then we have an information bound of 1 bit per four planck area on the ever-increasing surface area of the event horizon of the observable universe. The diameter of the sphere is ~96 billion light years at present and using the sphere surface area equation A=4*pi*r^2 and dividing it into Planck areas, we get an information content of a single observable universe centred on a single discrete block of spacetime, on the order of 0.25*10^123 bits. Then we would take the surface area of your skin and count how many planck areas/bits we can split it into, and then multiply that number by 0.25*10^123 bits to arrive at a possible estimate of the exact information content of your entire friggin soul; that is to say, if my reasoning and the holographic information limit holds true. Two interesting things here: four planck areas correspond to a single bit. So the factor of 4 in the spherical surface area equation drops out: leaving us with the area equation for a 2D circle. How bizarre. Then, the fact that four planck areas correspond to a single bit: am I making a spurious connection by thinking what if it was this way simply as it takes four planck areas to describe a single coordinate of spacetime (x,y,z,t)? X on or off, Y on or off, Z on or off, T on or off. Who knows. The most minimal way to tesselate a sphere, in this case, an observable universe with diameter 96 billion light years is of course to triangle-tesselate. Somewhere in this whole thing sacred geometry will pop up in the picture and of course our good friend the golden ratio. Whether these appearances are any more significant than other numbers & proportions I cannot truly say. So if the holographic principle holds truthful then all of our spiritualities look something exactly like this:

somethingsintheway wrote:Last night while laying in bed and meditating, I started to realize that my spirituality took the shape of an upside down triangle. I associate with this shape because I imagine the point of the upside down triangle being my genitals. I am full of lust, passion, and primal instinct. I also feel like a very down to earth person, and belief my qualities to be like clay, dirt, fungus, and mold. For some reason, whatever it is, I feel very close to the earth. I am a nature lover. I have been motivated by stories of people leaving society and going into the wild. The shape of an upside down triangle I feel describes me in a lot of ways, in that the point of the triangle meets with my genitals thus symbolizing my lust and passions, while also pointing down towards the earth which represents how I feel very grounded and close to nature. Just curious if anyone else has thought to picture their spirituality as a shape, and if so, what shape is it? In yogic context, an upside down triangle is feminine energy. Feminine energy is also associated with the creative energy of fertility, and ultimately all manifestation that comes through fertility, such as the creation of natural organic matter (plants, mold, babies). So your instincts actually aligned perfectly with an ancient context for that shape. Just thought you might find that interesting. Here is a wiki page that gives a general overview of geometric shapes and their spiritual contexts in Hindu and Yogic contexts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YantraThe downward triangle is related to Shakti, the feminine principle, the great divine mother.
