Anybody microdosing rue tea at night for extended periods of time? I had a microdose last night before bed and it was quite pleasant... I was thinking of doing this nightly for a bit. I've heard somewhere though that daily microdosing of rue is not good for you. I don't know, hopefully someone can enlighten me.

i've microdosed rue (and to a lesser extent caapi) almost daily for the better part of a year and a half. i don't see any reason why it would be unhealthy, and i haven't experienced any negative side affects at all...even though my doses are usually not really "micro", and are often more like a low or sometimes medium dose

sometimes i take extracted harmalas or a bit of a brew before bed, or put some in a smoothie (sometimes during the day to)

nice! thanks for that info and glad it's been working out for you so long. i'm definitely gonna embark on this. so you mostly take it during the day or before bed? I did notice it was harder to go to bed last night, i was doing a life review in my head having the easiest time remembering the most minor things of my childhood.

What is the reason for microdosing like this? What does it do?

I did it for like 1.5 years daily. After that I had to take a serious step back for a couple months because I entered a sort of permanent low level sort of afterglowy state..turns out it was not permanent but lingered for a while. Now I microdose again but only every onther day..or for like 2 days on then skip a day or 2.

I was also drinking full brews like 2 times a week though.

lots of reasons. harmalas are very interesting and have a lot of mental and physical health benefits (not to mention they are indeed psychedelic on their own). this has been discussed in depth many times, see these threads for starters:

For me what it did was make me psychic basically..well thats the only word I can think of to describe it, but it was more like a shamanic episode that lasted weeks with me going OBE at random times in the day having to lay down and deal with it etc..it took quite a while to get to that point and it was likely the culmination of a number of factors.

Note that this was microdosing a full brew a lot of the time, so there was mico ammounts of DMT present as well..

That might sound appealing to some, but trust me it's not. It's interesting looking back once you finally feel grounded again though.

I find microdosing harmalas sort of useless if you dont sit down and meditate for like 30 minutes after you take it, or take it at night and lay in bed doing dreamwork or w/e. If I just microdose and go about my day it feels like a waste.

yea jamie i just read a post of yours on that in one of those threads...in your case i think all of that was due to a combination of things, not simply a build up of harmalas in your system over time

for me it varies depending on what i'm going for. you can do whatever you want really

Thanks for the replies. I was gradually building up with doses of rue-only recently to find my dosage levels and get used to how it feels. There is a definite glow, but also a sedation and a sloppiness in the body that makes it less than ideal for me to do too often.

Do you ever use just crushed or powdered rue in a capsule?

I was using some 4x extract I purchased a few years ago but never used. I just dissolved it in distilled water and shot it down quickly and followed with another shot or two of plain water. It's quite bitter, but I could shake it off in a second or two. It always makes my nose drain a lot of clear mucus within seconds too. Like a faucet.
