Hello Everyone!

quick thoughts:
So we all know that the way humans are living is causing mother earth some tremendous pain, and it's affecting not just her but her inhabitants and that includes us. Anyone would think we enjoy being self destructive, Ha.

Now here's the thing the people all think that there is a set way to be "human" I mean psychiatrists & psychologists all say it right?
That "way" would be defined by culture. our "culture" focused on debt and televisional programming.
So we've got this consume consume consume attitude and it stems from a fear of the unknown, a fear of learning, a fear of loss of control.

I mean religion that has mentally head fkd us, and some of us 'got it' but... most of us became slaves for security.
It's like saying:
"Hey yes there's a head crab on my head and I can't see anymore but If I pretend it's not their it won't eat my heart and I could do with walking into a few things anyway."
Absolutely preposterous.

So yeah like the first bit of life with no recollection it learnt to repeat things, and the loop was good until it got boring then it started doing two things in two loops and suddenly things are more than twice as clear but not clear enough, boring. more learning& loops.

So right now humans are stuck in repetitive thought, duality gave us everything and we still want more.
But duality gave the good and the bad, the fear and the hope, and now...
We reach a point where we must live with the land not off it.
Or she will detox we the venom off of her skin.

We've acted in really weird and wonderful ways throughout history, and now it's time to stop repeating and start a new.
it seems so silly all the fearing & fighting and blaming and hating when you remember what you really are
and how we all got here
and how there's no one to blame but we all must fix this for each other and for our souls, time to learn Smile

============
Right that's my little thoughts there but here's some discussion:

Sometime soon I hope to move to a eco village, completely self sustained by a bunch of ex hippies.
Everybody grows and looks after each other and only have to work like 2 days a week.
This eco-village is like a dream come true it's where I've always wanted to be.
There's no money and people build their own houses.
But until I get invited to join their community I want to learn how to take care of the earth and myself.

So I'm looking for:

- Brilliant recycling - whether it be useful or like my coke can ring pull bracelet just fun Smile
- Eco savings - things to build and make to save the eco, things that couteract the bad we already do.
- healthy options - guides for homemade toothpaste without fluoride, or concentrated healthy juice
- free me things - how to build simply homes, how to filted fluoride water.
- Anything and everything which helps the earth and or can be called self sustaining.
- And ways to make energy whether heat or electric for free without harm to earth.

Everyone please please please please I and everyone reading WANT YOU! to share your knowledge so we shape this world for the better!

Hey admin if this takes off this could be a really good sticky thread.

Love these ideas man. Although I do believe it will be some time before they can be carried out by a whole group. The mass population has been programmed to resist this "hippy" movement. I find it ridiculous, because now things like, pure love for everything, growing food, and wanting to eat organic, is known as "hipster", and looked down upon by many. Hopefully we will be able to overcome this.

If you're looking for fluoride free toothpaste, I've been using Toms of Maine peppermint. No fluoride and it actually tastes pretty good. Teeth feel much smoother than when I used to use crest.

Cheers guys!

But yeah the Eco village I was talking about is Real and run by hippies right now and it works, with loads of surplus.
And autonomous control over law. It's like a dream come true.

But like I said I have to be invited so between now and then I'm learning skills to bring with me. Smile

Sounds Exciting! I'm completely into sustainability and eco-villages. I am traveling in about one month to work on a project with some friends in Central America Very happy

There's actually many eco "hippy" communities around the world. I hope to be able to invite young seekers of truth and health one day to the place I will help create.

As far as being sustainable here and now...I've joined a farm coop where i'm picking up almost all my food now. All local/organic farms, bypassing the grocery stores, supporting local farmers directly. And the food is super fresh!

You remind me of myself kind of. Like haeratic said, there's no such thing as ex hippies, we're hippies for life haha. If someone really has what has come to be known as the "hippie" philosophy/mindset/whathaveyou, then chances are they won't go back to other ways of seeing the world. I've seen too much to even consider going back to what I consider ignorant views and ways of living.

Anyway, enough hippie talk... sort of. Ever hear of WWOOFing? If you want to make a positive change and learn about intentional communities and self-sustainablity, WWOOFing might be for you. http://www.wwoof.org/ I considered doing it last summer, but didn't. I plan on pursuing my dream of travelling this summer while not in school like now, perhaps via WWOOFing, as well as hitting up some festies along the way Very happy

Living in a commune though, it's not just like a "work 2 days a week thing." There's stuff to be done everyday. Taking care of livestock, gardens, building, etc. I've read about communites before and it seems that usually (depending on which one you're at) you work for so many hours a day doing what you're good at, or want to learn, then the rest of the day is yours for walking in the woods, playing music, communing with the others, etc.

WWOOF is great!

uft,

the only reason hippies get so much hate is b/c currently most of mankind is completely sterile and seduced by modern techno-industrial civilization. therefore any lifestyle that is opposed to this get's placed on the social chopping block as a square peg in the round hole. luckily, real hippies are busy out on the land and don't have to deal with the ignorant industrial city dwellers.

the problem with hipsters is that they fit perfectly in the round hole yet act like they're a square peg. they created counterculture consumerism. they live in the cities but act like hippies, they're the smug fauxhemian children of yuppies who gentrify neighborhoods. if a hippie were in the city you couldn't tell the difference between them and the hipster. the hipster basically acts like a down to earth dude thru what he consumes, living comfortably in the belly of the beast that is techno-industrial civilization.

I wouldn't go as far as to say all hippies living in the city are hipsters. In fact I recently (past two months) connected with the hippie population in the nearest big city closest to me and they are genuinely trying to make it a better world, not like those "hippies" you see always taking and never giving back. They have this program where they introduce inner-city kids to gardening to get them connected to their food and with each other and they have different non-profit things going I'm pretty sure. But yeah, don't wanna jack this thread and start talking about hippies, back to sustainablity...

Wow hug46, that's a neat video. Very creative how they make those instruments out of trash. "The Recycled Orchestra," awesome haha. Bringing together green ideas and music, two things close to my heart Pleased

I'm looking into making a mass rocket heater one of these days, a superefficient woodstove that uses mass to store warmth:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_mass_heater

I also love this design:
http://www.permies.com/t...um-pop-beer-solar-heater

It recycles tin cans and it heats your air.
There's a whole lot of innovative people working in sheds and in communities such as you're joining; interesting times. But most of all I'm hoping for the free energy developments in AfroHorrors post..

Wish you luck
