Hi all!

First of all, great forum, so much valuable information - good job!

I am planning my first extractions very soon and will make changa. And I came up with two questions that I couldn't find direct answer:

Could I infuse herbs with spice using SMIRNOF vodka (37.5%)

And does Changa has to have harmine and harmaline in it? Will it still work if I infuse with spice only?

Thanks for your thoughs and ideas!

Thanks for help, M-Man.

What if I use gentle heat, let's say around 50 degrees celcius? I have just a place like this. Would water in my vodka would be a problem, apart from drying time?

And how much harmalas prolong the experience?

thanks

ok, that's more clear now. and as usual, one answer raises at least one more question Smile

You say you'd smoke a caapi joint to get MAOI effect. how dangerous that is from diet point of view? how much time has to pass for MAO to work again and fight all the nastiness our modern "food" contains? and is there a difference in how MAO works when consumed orally or smoked?

if that is the case, don't use heat when you brew ayahuasca, it will destroy the DMT.

a little bit of heat is fine, just don't go overboard.

that being said, i wouldn't use smirnoff for a solvent..

as far as MAOI goes, it only affects your MAO-A (not your MAO-B - though i may have that backwards and it affects B and not A) with which there is a lot less concern with diet; plus they are reversable inhibitors, so diet concerns with ayahuasca (oral or smoked) are really not necessary.

Hi there,

I like my changa proportions of plant material:Rue HarmalasVery happyMT to be 2: .25:1.
The harmalas greatly assist in the come-up being slower, and allow for easier navigation within the state.

I found that dry IPA worked very well for me. There are teks for drying store-bought 91% IPA with NaCl and Epsom salts.

A DMT-infused herb blend could be made, with no harmalas, but that's up to you.

I have found the rue-extracted harmalas to be worth exploring and vaping on their own, with cannabis, and of course, with DMT.
I also have had no adverse effects from eating any particular foods proximate to the use of harmalas, but generally avoid alcohol before or after harmalas, just my preference. I have tested many foods rich in tyramine with harmalas, no problems. I usually don't go into medicine space with a full belly either!

I hope that helps....
