Just curious as I have so far only taken mescaline solo (although I have been around others who were not). I was just watching a nat geo documentary on San Pedro in Peru that stated that it is considered taboo to take San Pedro alone and that it should only be taken in group settings.

Just curious of the settings of other cacti enthusiasts. What do you prefer?

This is a very interesting question, and I am looking forward to learning what more experienced psychonauts will have to say.

As for me, I have taken mescaline (mescaline HCl) alone in lower/medium doses (260mg, 300mg, 360mg). For me, the experience was always very "intellectual", quite a deep "thinking tool" actually, without any visuals whatsoever.

However, I was kind of "missing" the company of other people, as I felt great compassion for humanity and for all beings. The sense of empathy for others was always very strong, probably stronger than on lower/medium dose of Mushrooms. I am looking forward to take lower dose of mescaline in public / with like-minded people.

less than entheogenic doses are good with people/ alone
fully immersive experiences, i cant imagine interactions with another. its just too much

having a few friends on the same dose in a comfortable place with some candles and ambient gentle music is a great way to bond

Taken with others it is a fun bonding experience, but I'm never able to go as deep as I'd like to "do the work." Taken solo it is a real healer/teacher for me, much like several good therapy sessions all crammed together. Solo is my strong preference.

I think it depends on what culture you grow up with that will determine which method is the most useful for you. My country has no entheogenic traditions (that is so sad! Sad ), so there just isn't a large enough population of like minded seekers to get together for a group spiritual experience where everyone would be on the same spiritual page. We only know how to party here...
A scale is a wonderful thing. Everything else posted by CS is lunatic fiction.
