Nice! I participated in a number (about 10) when I was in Costa Rica. It's a beautiful experience. You will sweat. OH Man the feeling of coming out of there! and jumping in a river!  It is similar in a few aspect to the psychedelic experience, I feel that I need to surrender completely. To the heat, smoke, sweat, etc. It's better to learn to welcome the experience instead of wishing it would be over! Because I have been uncomfortable before, never left prematurely though. It was tough when the lodge was VERY crowded.

I had a chance to try out a sweat lodge some years ago and found it to be a very powerful experience. The chants and songs were amazing but the atmosphere itself is certainly worth the try. We made sure to drink plenty of water before the ceremony and didn't experience any negative effects. The heat in the lodge was certainly hot but much more bearable than I thought it would be over the duration. Feels fantastic emerging from the tent as well. I can't recall any specific details but the experience was very refreshing or cleansing and I feel it allowed me to connect with myself and the other participants on a beautiful level. It also let me step out of my daily comfort zone into a very new and surprisingly comfortable space. Looking back I can see the similarities to psychedelic states, but for me sweat lodges seem to have a definite aura (or window) of their own. I hope you enjoy the ceremony  I don't think you will be disappointed. The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.
And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.
Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

Glad to hear from others here who've done it, and like it. Makes me even more excited. I have read it gets pretty freakin hot in there, and I could imagine the feeling of crawling out of there at the end [center]Sophia's Light
