Hello MergeSort,
Welcome to the Nexus. Thank you so much for sharing that introductory essay with us. You said and hinted at a lot.
I wonder if you might be willing to tell us a bit more about what you said? No need to be too specific if you don't want to. Can you specify the nature of what was so traumatic and painful this past year? Deaths of loved ones? Midlife crisis? Loss of housing? Radical change in medical status?
Has it (whatever it is) been getting any better for you now that you've been dealing with it for a calendar year? Are you progressing? Are you integrating? There is a GREAT link in the upper right hand corner of this forum you might benefit from even as a current non psychedelic user - Heath & Safety. I would recommend you click that and read the entire thing. You might find it to be fascinating and perhaps even relevant. Who knows.
Also, what opened your eyes or alerted you to psychedelics a couple of months ago?
Finally, what do you hope to accomplish or achieve? I do know you said a new perspective on life and there's a good chance you may get just that. Is there anything else that comes to mind? Perhaps that's more than enough, eh? I know, speaking for myself, for my midlife crisis resolution it sure was.
I like your attitude towards research. It's a great one. You'll find the research rabbit hole goes deep these days with psychedelics. Hopefully you are at least a bit of an information addict. That helps here. Please, do take a good look around.
I look forward to hearing more about you and seeing you around this place, posting your thoughts on various subjects.
Again, welcome to the Nexus.
