does blue lotus actually work, im not asking if you felt relaxed or whatever, i wanna know if you knew that you felt it. and not with alcohol, not with weed, or any others, just smoking blue lotus have you felt effects?

same question for kanna.

also, is caapi vine psychoactive if you smoke it?

I have rolled blue lotus spliffs many times, and yes I've felt subtle effects. (lite-ness of body, semi-relaxed mind state, etc) And this is by itself. Taste rather nice as well. (a sweet n' mellow taste)

Kanna I used to use, but I mainly used it in tea form. (I felt it was overall more effective that route). Although I have smoked it a couple times by itself and the effects are pretty pronounced. A few tokes usuyally would do it for me. If I would smoke a great deal of it it can become pretty psychoactive/psychedelic imo. (brightness/contrast change, etc) Aside from that it's an excellent anxiolytic and puts me in a VERY care-free, relaxed mindstate.

And yes, pulverized caapi vine is definitely psychoactive when smoked.

I've rolled fatties of blue lotus and smoked alone and definitely felt chilled and unmotivated - way more than cannabis. Took at least 2-3 of these fat joints to get me there. It was well worth it I felt.

Both a great experiment and a wonderful changa herb.

Yes it defiantly works but the effects are pretty mild. I get a feeling sort of similar to cannabis but it is no where near as strong as the effects of cannabis. When i run out i defiantly plan on ordering some more, i think it was around 10$ for an ounce.

I never knew it had any effects when smoked alone. Ill have to try it sometime.

When I smoke it with spice, I usually see Egyptian imagery (which I had never seen until using blue lotus.) Bizarre.

White lotus has always treated me well, and it's usually a bit cheaper. Another favorite of mine is wild dagga. I have used the 25x resin and just the leaves. The lions ear variety is supposedly the more potent, and the flowers are better than leaves, but the leaves work fine. It's definitely a mood lifter. Plus, dagga, lotus, and others go really well with weed. Its a great way to stretch your stash.

Do you just mix a little in with your weed? What ratio do you use of weed/lotus?

Well I like to fill my bowl half way with a legal herb, like lotus, or caapi leaf, dagga etc. The weed I have right now is kind of loose fine stuff, so I just sprinkle a bit of that on top, almost like seasoning. Works pretty well!

I am laughing at my own ludicrous description of my smoking technique...

I'd say half and half would be a good start, but mine usually ends up being mostly other herbs since I am super stingy most of the time. I don't know many people who smoke, and I usually don't look to get super baked.

With regards to the kanna, I have found the most effective way is snuffing it and then smoking it. When I smoked cigarettes I would load the ends with kanna and smoke it at work and it seemed to jive very well with tobacco.

The effects are very mild but they are as if you took a very very light dose of MDMA. Relaxing and tactile sense is increased so that you feel light and soft to the touch.

Warning: snuffing kanna is not pleasant and can lead to nosebleeds! What I do now is shake up the ziplock bag and open it and quickly inhale the fine dust that is produced from shaking it.

That's too bad, but some herbs just don't do much for some people. Lucky a lot of them are pretty cheap. You might try mixing with an maoi/rima type of herb. I did a 50/50 blend of passion flower and dagga the other day and got a really nice body high, and the mood benefits were quite nice. I wasn't expecting such a nice tingly body sensation, though. Dagga has gotten better the more I've used it.

passion flower, wild lettuce, scullcap, damiana, they all dont work on me. i doubt that the maoi's in passion flower cause the so called effect, they are in such small amount. i once did an extraction on 100g passion flower and got no precipitate... the only one of these herbs ive seen work for me is valerian
