First Time with Cacti - suggestions Options

First time with cacti. I have a little less than 100g of powdered Peruvian torch that I intend on using as 2 doses to meet-n-greet a new entheogen (new to ME).

At some later point I may attempt isolating goodies, but right now I'm happy to just ingest the cactus and I'd like to do it tomorrow. The friend and I that are doing it have iron stomachs and even if those don't hold - we're not against purging at all.

I've read about a bunch of different teas, sludges, mucilages, etc. and it's all a little hard to sort out. What I'm looking for is a suggestion for the best method of getting this cactus into my belly in the most potent way tomorrow morning that requires no extraction. Like I said, we're not concerned about taste, just getting the most mileage out of unextracted cactus.

I've never worked with powder but I think most people will either put it in big gel caps or mix it with water or juice and down the hatch.

definitely make a resin

be sure to let settle while in tea/alcohol overnight to decant from the insolubles, this will greatly reduce the amount of plant material in your final product. decanting>filtering with cacti everytime

Yes, I feel better about it. Too many things seemed to be indicating I should wait. Tomorrow is the day. Time blocked off. Trip brother is all set too. I'm making tar balls and will just swallow with a bunch of water.

i highly suggest you heed this advise. do not use large amount of liquid with cacti, ever. it is the coeffecient to the nausea variable. less liquid the better, infact cease ingestion of liquid 2 hours prior for your sake. be sure to prehydrate thoroughly as mesc/cacti can give a user some odd pressure headaches that can be easily avoided through prehydration. use as little liquid as possible to get your globs down, and dont be afraid to make them smaller than larger so you dont end up gagging in an attempt to be "efficient" 1.5 oz of liquid is really all you need to get each foot of cacti down. make it count, or the liquid will dissolve/expand your cacti and youll be left with a belly full of ughh and it will take longer to digest.

and don't be afraid to spit any saliva out of your mouth as it builds up. This seems to help with the nausea.

I'm not worried about throwing up, just worried about holding my dose long enough before I do. I find I actually trip harder when I purge, but just gotta hold the medicine in long enough.

WOW! Cactus is so lovely…. for lack of a better descriptor!

Here's a little overview of my first experience:

What we ingested: 84g of Peruvian Torch chips that looked to me like the outer 1/2 cm of the cactus only (I think that's good)

I powdered it in my trusty coffee grinder - simmered it for several hours in distilled water 3 times. Filtering was a gloppy, messy enterprise done with cheesecloth. The liquid was reduced to 1.5 quarts and left in the fridge for 6 days. Lots of fine plant matter settled out. Poured off the liquid into a pan and reduced (on med heat) to about 9oz of syrup.

Drank the syrup - chased with water. The taste was pretty bad, but not gag-producing for either of us.

I fasted for the 12 hours prior to this only having vegetable juice and coffee.

The come-up seemed to take about an hour to an hour and a half. We drank at 1pm in the afternoon.

I was really amazed at how different it was than the triptamine family. Obviously there are some similarities, but now I understand why people hesitate to get to descriptive about it in comparison to other compounds.

After a pretty groovy peak which wasn't hugely visual but was very very deep we settled into comfy chairs, watched Cosmos with Carl Sagan and that groove on how we fit into the giant picture that is the cosmos became super emotionally intense. It was great.

I really like it. Plan on giving it another go over the holidays. Thanks for your advice. This is truly amazing stuff.

Ah yes, overall, no stomach issues at all. A few standard trippy burps for me, but nothing more than that.

sounds like a great time! I just had a fun mescaline experience last night.

I never grind up the chips to make tea, I always just brew them as is, alternating between pulls to freeze the hydrated chips. Seems like powderizing would make the whole process a lot more difficult.

Maybe I'll give this a try if I don't do an actual extraction next time.

glad to hear of your newfound love.

nicechrismans advise for spitting is a useful tool. i also like having lemon juice near by to wash my mouth out. mint works well too (ie listerine, ive even used mint leaves steeping in sprite to swish n spit)
