So I've only had one real breakthrough dose. I've tried several times after that but always chicken out when I get that first "dip" from reality (it feels like Im barely starting to fade away and would lose control if I took another hit). I think this gripping to reality comes from being able to see my surroundings start to disappear. it feels like I'm sitting in a chair on the edge of a dock, back facing towards the water and someone comes out from the water and pulls me in backwards. I even get the fear that I'm underwater and if I breath I will drown. I was wondering if anyone finds it easier to let go and go with the flow when they are in a pitch dark room? or does it make the trip even more intense?.. I dont think I'm ready for anything more intense than I experienced last time, and will even be lowering my dose on my next try. I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything in relation to weather it makes it seem easier or not. I am sure there have been other threads on this topic, and if anyone remembers or could link me to one I would be more than grateful. otherwise I would love to hear your opinions!

From my experiences it seems almost like 2 different trips in lit vs dark. In darkness it much more in your head and there are far less distractions making it easier to fall out. Also in darkness I've broken thru more but I'm not exactly sure why. Next time is sudgest trying a dark room or pulling a beenie or blanket over ur eyes as there will be nothing to distract you. All the best. we did not inherit the earth from our parents. we are borrowing it from our children. --- the difference between spirituality and religion? one cost money.

I personally prefer to blast off in the Dark. If I am going for a real breakthrough OBE type thing I try to minimize all distractions. I don't even use Music anymore as I felt it grounded me. I always try and just let go though. Its scary as hell but I don't dare fight it and try to smile, think good things, clear my head, and let her rip! If I die, well I die... 3, 2 ,1, HYPERPUNT! โAccessing your existence before the current one is of no concern, all you need to know is open your Heart and just BEโ - A loving Entity from a Breakthrough โTo question is good, but take delight in contentment as well, because always asking โWHY?โ too much can create a feedback loop into madness.โ - A concern Entity from a Pharma voyage.

i too recently have almost stopped using music as well. recently it almost seems that the music is noise that is extraneous and no longer really influences my trips. the other day i was thinking about it comming back and i realized that was extremely hit and miss with more misses than hits, making guessing no longer worth it. also its easier to communicate with being when i encounter them. we did not inherit the earth from our parents. we are borrowing it from our children. --- the difference between spirituality and religion? one cost money.

I think that in most cases, the less distracted you are, the better. Music is not necessary in terms of generating visuals through synesthesia- you'll get powerful visuals without. Music can also tether you to your everyday reality by reminding you of familiar things.
I usually partake while in a dimly lit room... Dark enough that the inner visions quickly overpower the room around me- at 20mg or more you'll have part of the trip where your experience is so vivid that you may not notice a difference between your eyes being open or closed. But when I come down I like to eventually open my eyes and enjoy the altered and enhanced room around me, which is filled with art and cool stuff.
A lot of people (including me) really enjoy partaking outdoors. I even like the effect of having eyes closed but slivers of warm sunlight leaking in. But indoors, I think the less distraction, the better.
Regardless, taking that second and third hit can feel like an uphill climb- lots of reflexive anxiety to overcome. It's totally normal and natural to feel this way.

Yeah , vaping in a lit room can be a bit overwhelming . I find sunlight to be the best , it always produces the most beautiful visuals and the most positive atmospheres for me but I have vaped in the dark a few times too. They where mostly black and white visuals with occasional extremely vivid full spectrums of colour (which are breathtaking to see in the dark). They usually have less going on but are amazingly intricate nonetheless.

I can really relate to your feeling, and I haven't broken through yet. The memory of the fear that I felt still scares me. I purposely smoked just enough last night, like you, to get close again, like dipping my toe in the water before diving in. And like Digital Machine said, "if I die, well I die.." Because that's exactly what it felt like to me 'starting to die' so if I go further I must be prepared surrender my fate. I am quite awestruck at all the couragous individuals on this forum who go through this journey and return. Maybe next time? Safe Journeys to all of us

I've only ever worked in a pitch black room once and it was one of the scariest journeys I've ever been through. I plan to do it again, but not any time in the near future. My usual setting is in a dimly lit room. I find working in full light to be overwhelming, although it's never induced the deep fear I experienced in complete darkness.

I perfer to vap in my living room with all the blind drawn so there is just enough light to be able to see. I have tried vaping in the dark, in bright sunlight filled room, and in dim light. The visuals on lower doses are more vivid in lower light. For Breakthrough, complete dark is a little intimidating, cuz I'm not sure where I am to begin with when I return, so the last thing I wanna do is fumble around in the dark trying to figure out where I am. Dim light with Tribal Music for me is perfect. The Tribal music keeps my mind calm and confident in the journey.
