Hi guys

I'm gonna try with two friends the first time ayahuasca in a few weeks. I read a lot about it but there are still some questions.

1.) Can Ayahuasca really change you? And in what way? Is it possible that it doesn't change you? Is it possible to prevent that? We just want a spiritual experience and not a change in our lifes!
2.) I bought 100 g of black caapi and 20 g of Mimosa powder
- How much shall we take for first timers? It's kind of confusing,
many people write different dosages for first timers.

Thanks for your answers

I really appreciate that Smile

Warning

DMT is a bottomless well of never ending confoundment, an unsolvable riddle of epic proportions spoken in alien tongues. It will call into question all that you know, all you’ve learned to accept as reality, and introduce you to a state of being which defies all comprehension.

This experience is not for everyone, and not all who choose to open the door deal well with the questions it raises. It should never be undertaken lightly or treated in a casual manner. Those who approach it with little respect often pay a psychic price.

Should you choose to proceed, be aware that integration issues may follow. What you find inside may change your life. It will almost certainly alter your deepest, most fundamental assumptions.

I'm afraid that a change without a change is impossible. This sentence is a bit confusing, maybe you can explain it a bit more?

If I were you I would focus more on your first question then on the recipe. The recipe can come later if/when you know more about Ayahusaca and what it actually it.

Kind regards,

1) A spiritual experience tends to be definitively transformative. If you're looking to resist change, this may not be the experience for you. Of course it's quite possible it doesn't change you. A spiritual experience on the other hand doesn't seem so easily separable from change (unless you've been having spiritual experiences willy nilly without drugs, and then maybe you're already on that path that psychs can tend to throw you on)

2) Try 50g caapi and 7g mimosa.

Dear Stephanminger,

welcome to the nexus. I will be responding to your first question. FOr the second one I have no information to offer, since I have ever only worked with extracts.

All experiences change you. This happens every single day, every minute of your waking and sometimes even dreaming life, your brain processes information, learns, combines things, connects some dots, makes choices etc. Every single thought process changes you a little bit. The only way to protect yourself from this is to stop time.

Some experiences can change you more than others, for example if they leave quite an impression on you. Accidents, bad sicknesses, strong pain, experiencing a different culture, learning something that changes your view of reality and psychedelics among others all have this potential. But hell, even reading a book can change you.

the thing that makes a spiritual experience so spiritual is that it is FELT BY YOUR MOST INNER CORE. That means it is intense. It has the potential to touch you, to show you things about yourself and your world that you otherwise would refuse to see. Why do you desire it if you are not willing to let it change you?

Aside from the fact that it is contradictory is also dangerous to go into an experience like this without the willingness to let it take you for the ride. Inner resistance can lead to ver scary experiences, so be warned.

I think you might want to focus a little bit on what you really want out of your experience, what you define as spiritual and finally if and when you should really take the ayahuasca. Please be safe.

if it does end up changing you most likely its for the good! Ive only reeped positive benefits from mother aya, shes taught me priceless lessons and healed me in ways dont think could have gotten otherwise and feel a better more humble person from my experiences. Open your heart to it and approach it with respect! (do some reading on preperation for the experience, heres a great thread: http://forums.ayahuasca....pic.php?f=12&t=13107) There is only to gain nothing to lose no ones ever died or gone crazy from it they even give it to children in the amazon, and like other have said spiritual experiences usually=change whether u realize it or not. Black caapi can be strong so best to start low ~40g 5-10g mimosa

I understand that you are trying to help cosmic butterfly, but this is not a very responsible reaction.

There is a small percentage of the population that is susceptible to psychotic reactions to what is termed a schizophrenic break when ingesting entheogens, including Ayahuasca.

The interaction with certain medicine can be very dangerous and even deadly.

Furthermore there is a small risk of tachycardia (increase in heart rate) and hypertension (high blood pressure) as a direct results of ingesting DMT for example.

So please, do some more research in possible risks and in ways to avoid/minimize these risks before you give any advice.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Stop Spiritual experiences pretty much always end up with a change happening afterwards during integration, and even during the experience too. Don't take these things lightly. I think everyone here has said what has to be said.

What do you expect to happen? Have a profoundly spiritual experience where you realize different mental blockages within you that you need to change to better yourself and that the universe is infinately mysterious and vast, and we know very little about the true nature of reality... only to come back to baseline and say "wow, what a spiritual experience! Let's continue our normal lives even though we've seen what we could become. Pass the chips Joe, let's play some more COD."

These are powerful things. I haven't had ayahuasca yet, but from talking to people who've done it and reading about it, it's clear that it is a very special thing. Sacred. With that being said, perhaps you should read a lot more and talk to people who've done it and see how they were beforehand and how it's changed them, because it most likely has. Embrace change, it's the only thing that's constant.

In darkest night, when lights are dim, and all in sight seems sad and grim,
I find you there, your arms surround me, your spirit fills me and it grounds me.
I look to you, Lady of Truth, most ancient One, yet eternal youth,to keep me safe, protect my heart, and with the wisdom you impart, fill up my empty mind and soul,so that, my Lover, you can make whole, all that was broken in this day –and that is what I ask and pray.

Thanks for your answers guys Smile

I'm still not sure about the dosage of the black caapi. One wrote 40 g should be fine. I read in other forums theards that it's very strong and should be used carefully. What would you recommend?

if what you have is banisteriopsis caapi (regardless of color) then 50g a person is a good dose, if what you have is black ayahuasca (species: alicia anisopetala) then the dosage would be lowered, and 20g a person would be a good place to start.

any chance we can get an elaboration on the "We just want a spiritual experience and not a change in our lifes!"? also as a fair warning, expectations (not to be confused with intent) will not get you anywhere in these realms.

also keep in mind that you may not necessarily get an experience from your first dose
