It means they're senior members. Not yet dwelling in the Realm of the Mods, but still superior to us lowly normal folk. Rolling eyes

i had always thought that if you had been around for a long time or had made constantly helpfull posts that this would gain you the senior member tag, a bit like the elders of the tribe.

i dont see a problem with it.

Senior members are members who have been around for some time, have shown a remarkable knowledge about certain topics and are able to communicate that in a helpful way.

With the large amount of members that we have on the DMT-Nexus it is important that we can easily identify those people who are able to answer tough questions about their field of knowledge. The next step for this will be to add keywords with the senior members so that you know what their areas of expertise is (you can then see that when you hover with the mouse over the icon).

Kind regards,

The Traveler

I wouldn't mention it if there wasn't a semi-relavant topic already started, but now that there is... I always thought the badge icon was a very ironic choice given the nature of the Nexus. Was it meant to be a joke? Certainly I'm not the first one this has occurred to.

Yes, it's ironic and chosen exactly for that. I hope that by using this we can give a prime example on how law enforcement could and should react on entheogen use.

i can dig it. It helps me to be more confident in the advice given by those members, knowing they must have some credibility. I could see it easily turning into a popularity contest however, any checks and balances in place for that?

New Members should get the brain or an icon like the classic thinker statue, as they have a lot to think about and integrate. Senior Members should get a handshake icon or one that is similar to the "working" one in chat or something similar, as their activities are so important to the functioning of the site. Badges for mods works, Razz.

It makes sense to recognize those who consistently have helpful info to contribute.

Thanks oblighul though you dont have to offer me condolences or anything lol I just dont like it tbh it seems silly. I always liked the fact you didnt have ratings and such on this site, unlike others. I will see someone with 2 posts and listen to them as much as someone with 10000 posts. I dont think a symbol next to someones name shows that they're points are more valid or they know better than someone who doesnt have the symbol. Moderators, yes, chemists yes, newbies ok, but the other one I just dont get it but then who am I? Im a nobody with no symbol next to my name thats who LOL

No offence void traveller but how can you be a senior member when you only have 300 odd posts and have been here a little over a year yet theres people here who have been members for 4 years and aren't senior members. Maybe i'm missing something as usual.
