This has been a long time in coming to fruition. Sorry if this is long.
I would like to imagine myself as a self proclaimed researcher like many i would assume. I have been a member of this site and others, but have never posted until now because I've never really been mentally mature enough to know where to start or to be honest, had the courage lol.

I'd say it started at least two years ago and trying not to sound cheesy, was trying to find a higher purpose in life (Still trying lol). Having been depressed for most of my life and not finding out until i went to the docs and was prescribed meds in my teens, i always had a more critical eye of everything. Never really knew where i was going. In my late teens i read Rick Strassmans books(just checked book on shelf to make sure i spelled his last name with right amount of s's ). Was also a fan of the great HST as i somehow related to the chaos and lunacy of fear and loathing, seems like a lot of fun imho. First place i ever went to in America was Vegas when i was 13. Did a two week tour of the mid west seeing the grand canyon, monument valley, old faithful geyser, salt lake city etc. Would love to go back someday.
(side note if someone can perhaps explain to me why i like HST i would be eternally gratefull )

Anyway i read through Strassmans books and eventually moved on to as many books as i could buy through amazon. Terrence Mckenna was highly recommended so i read 'Fruit of the gods'. Finding his ideas and ruminations interesting i was thoroughly engrained in entheogenic studies. Having never tried any myself i might add.

Soon after i tried my first and as of right now only Dmt extraction. Being a complete noob i cut costs and did a simple lazyman tek cutting corners not intending to extract anything as was just for fun. Turns out after drawing the extraction out over a carefully monitored week or two, i extracted, what is still sitting in the same jar today, some small white clumps. To this day i am weary of doing anything with this, partly because i don't believe it is enough for any use and also because i don't know if this is just residual Caustic soda .

I would love people opinions on this. Grateful for any comments/ideas. The white clumps are about a mm or two in diameter and perfectly round. They are perfectly white like tippex or chalk. But in contact with skin are mushy and do not burn/react, kinda of like a paste in consistency. The smell of the jar is kind of of a musky plant/chemical smell not that, that probably helps. Might of posted pics but was unsure as this is my introduction and didn't want to get too in depth in case that's forbidden or frowned upon. Sorry if this doesn't make sense or if i double backed on myself as was trying to get a lot off my chest. Mainly just like pointers in where i should continue my journey or any ideas why i love Hunter S Thompson's books so much. Yes I've seen the film and own the criterion collection. Just ordered the bluray

Again sorry if this was long as only recently returned to this as this has been a weird year for me, kinda feels like a strange dream to me (Don't ask lol). Like many still searching for something just unsure of what .

The real question is, how could you not like Hunter S Thompson's work? He is, imo, one of the greatest literary composers of all time.

So you haven't tried any entheogenic substances yet? Sound to me like you've got some fun times ahead following this path.

A good way to find out if what you ended up with from your extraction is to go ahead and try a recrystallization on it, after that you should have something you can be sure about. Yeah will go ahead with the recrystallization sounds like a great idea. And no i don't know where I'd be without HST. In times of struggle i ask what would be the gonzo way of doing this ha ha.
But yeah I've never tried any drugs of this caliber. Besides the usual whiskey, beer, and a bit of weed i'm definitely new to this. (Hoping that being used to whiskey will help the burning in the throat deal lol). Feels familiar though. Relating to the whole weird year thing I've been getting a lot of deja vu in my life in general and more so recently. Might even make me side with the people who believe in reincarnation. I mean I've heard stranger ideas lol.
