That video is so awesome cyb! I kept wondering when he'd stop, but it just kept getting cooler and cooler. I really liked watching the art be made, too. One of my favorite things about creating art is the journey of each piece. It's a trip in itself creating something, and only the artist truly gets to see everything there is about the work, from start to finish.

This is a screenshot from a program I made that is basically a visualizer based on a psychedelic vision that I had while trying to remember what LSD is like. I know it's a very simplistic concept for a visualizer, but I was very pleased with how well it matches the original idea in my head.

Feel free to download the program and try it out IF you use Linux. I'm very sorry about the lack of portability, but I might recompile it for Windows in a week or two if anybody expresses interest.

Here's a low-quality screen capture of the program in use:

Beautiful. It's a great example of subtle and complex things arising from simple ones. Would love to see the video larger, maybe a little faster, more frames per second... And with music!

yes, me too- more fps... I thought it was just the busy interwebs today making it chunky... but I like its simplicity.

I tried, but the crappy screen capture software I have can't seem to do better than the video above. I might try adding code to the program that exports frames as soon as I get a chance.

By the way, I suspect that the program, as I put it up for download, will have problems running unless you have the right GL libraries in the right places on your computer. A static compilation will be a must if I ever get around to making all of these changes.

Thanks for the comments. I really wish I had a better video.

Well I was gonna keep this one close to my chest...but in the interest of sharing with fellow artistes...

It's a little open source program called Alchemy...fairly simple painter type program...BUT has some Very Awesome Buttons...Throw it in a Mason Jar and mix with a little PShop...add a dash of Structure Synth...Pull with Apophysis...Fan dry with Esoteric imaginings...and voila...Your a Nartist...Thumbs up

Sweet, seems like I've heard of it before but it was a long time ago... Seems like it was for making animated gifs or something when I used it.

I feel ya on keeping stuff close to your chest. That was kinda how I felt about my fractal generating program but I leaked the details yesterday in my Xenoian Expression thread.

Your description just gave me an idea to model a 3d mason jar and fill it with all types for crazy fractals overflowing out of it... I doubt I'll ever create it but it's an awesome visual nonetheless!

It's more special that way.

Christ that guy in the video knows exactly what hes doing.. thanks for sharing

I took a picture of a leaf and accidentally stumbled upon this guy while I was playing around with it in photoshop. I've definitely seen him before somewhere.. I named him "the organic soul collector". If you see him, run.

Shocked This blew my mind. As you said, I have no idea how someone can achieve that symmetry with drawing. What an amazing video. Thank you very much for posting.
