Disclaimer: I'm really not much of a visual artist. My plan was to make an Egyptian mandala, but I got sidetracked trying other things on a piece of "scrap" that ended up actually coming together in itself quite nicely. I do anything art related so little that the only thing I had in the house were fat highlighters and sharpies, but I made do Smile

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Nice! I like how it appears shifting and translucent, despite its simplicity.

Now I'm curious to see that Egyptian mandala!

You've got such a clear articulation of geometry in your written descriptions... Would be interesting to see you unleashed in a digital art realm.

Great Global! I really like your geometry, pretty precise for someone who doesn't draw Very happy Great job with the transparency as well as Guyo mentioned.

I'd really like to see moar!

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I've decided I need more art supplies to attempt an ambitious Egyptian mandala but I got snowed in today. I'm going to try and attempt to portray as much of my Egyptian visions as possible through what actual Egyptian reference I can get combined with my memory. Maybe we can turn this into a collaborative effort if I can get a good backbone down, but can't seal the deal Thumbs up

As for the digital art realm. I really don't have much to work with. I'm pretty sure my dad might have some software for photoshop for me, but other than that, I really wouldn't even know where to start. Is there any freeware that you think I may find useful?

Nice!
I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin

GIMP is a great open source alternative to photo shop, and almost every bit as powerful. Also if you are interested in any 3d modeling and rendering, there is a great free and easy program to learn called anim8or, its a quick download, but you can make some very powerful images. I'm not much of an artist myself, but 3d modeling and animation was always a big hobby, and while I worked with MAYA for most of my animation, I preferred simple modeling in Anim8or. there are forums for both programs that are VERY helpful and you definitely have the eye for it.

Thanks for the tips dontbesosure. I'll definitely loo into that.

Guyo: I've been making this Egyptian mandala on my computer these past couple days starting with my avatar and drawing as source material, and I've just been getting so completely carried away. It looks so awesome. I have a couple more cool ideas with it, so I think I'm gonna keep it under wraps for a few more days, so I can perfect it, and hopefully you'll get as much out of it as I'm getting making it Thumbs up

As a side note, it's kinda funny. Over these past few days I've been finding myself getting high less and less because I just get so wrapped up in the art, that I don't even feel like tearing myself away to go smoke for a few minutes Big grin

On second thought, here's my Egyptian mandala, freshly finished. I was planning on taking it, drawing the layers out, and then redigitizing everything, but I think this might suffice for itself.

Like the Egyptians, I tried to stack this image full of as much meaning as possible (lots of it personal, based on prior Egyptian visions). However, before I over-stimulate your left brains with my linguistic interpretation, I welcome your right brains so soak it in.

At times, I've talked about the first Egyptian vision I ever had, which to some extent could remain one of the more impressive ones till the end of time. It erred on the side of "simplicity" to some extent, and full on dimensionality on the other, but I found myself in a pyramid with these 3 Pharaoh sarcophagi that looked exactly like King Tut's. What fascinated me was the way they folded through each other so perfectly, so that as they scrolled from side to side, gliding through each other, due to certain specifics about the geometry of the head dress and face for example (but applying to everything) that as they moved through each other, it's like there was something that seemed to be created by them being overlapped. I've decided to try and recreate that vision, and I've already gotten to work. I feel that if I can overlay some King Tut sarcophagi in just the right way, that I should get some interesting results. If not, it'll just be 3 King Tuts, side by side in a pyramid Laughing

Your description of that trip is one of my favorite articulations of DMT space, and I've tried imagining the way their heads could fold through the same space and share boundaries, that kind of thing. With a lifetime of art experience I still don't know how I'd express that. But the exciting things happen as a result of trying.

Love the mandala, very floral. Would be cool to see a few of the Egyptian elements appear more prominently.

I do enjoy my weed, but when I'm on a roll with a project the breaks are very rare. I find that I can enter the THC space very effectively without the THC.

JTJ- check out the art tutorial thread: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=38118

Also, at the art supply store, try grabbing some black paper and some light colors- especially white- of Prismacolor pencils. Great fun, and an effective way to quickly and easily translate psychedelic CEVs.

I like Photoshop to make photomanipulations but I want to draw some sacred geometry, and photoshop cant do that for me ( it can, but I dont like it ! Very happy )

So like I said, see you in the art bin.
