I recently purchased an Iolite classic vape. Currently awaiting delivery. Was very impressed with the reviews and its relatively low cost. As expected though there was no mention of its use with the spice. Have any Nexians used this vape and how did it rate?

Certainly looks the business! Keep us informed how it works please! Is it just for DMT, or are you a weed smoker as well?

My GVG is the only thing I use for weed or DMT these days, I think for the price its unbeatable. Would love to try out some other vapes though to see how they compare.

It is too cold for harmala vaping.

Tobacco is somewhat doable but it generally has a harsh kick and the hits are not very effective; I used american spirit rolling tobacco.

Weed... It is absolutely impeccable, let's just say that. A brilliant device for this purpose by all means.

Spice? The flow rate of the straw leaves a lot to be desired due to its thin nozzle adapted for weed. It will certainly vape spice but via relatively longer drags to a vape with more volume. This should be negated by using a modification to the straw. I used the housing of a ball point pen which stuck perfectly with the straw. This vastly enhanced the flow rate and it is certainly possible that this could be a great vape for spice.

However it will not work with changa. If you are looking for that experience, get a different vape. Although if you are good with modding, you will be able to increase the temperature and consequently enable changa vaping too.

All things aside, I have to rate this vape a 10/10 for useability. It is absolutely comfortable and there is near zero risk of things catching on fire. You can relax back and puff away with far more comfort than a cigarette/spliff let alone the monstrous contraptions that are spice vapes. No need to hold a flame to anything, no worrying. Just flick a switch, press a button then relax and blast your ass off in total peace. May I recommend purchasing the more compact Iolite Wispr... It is not too late to get a refund/exchange.


Also just a little humorous anecdote, there is some trolling potential to be had with this as it resembles a two way radio. One time I happened to be messing around with it and a bunch of enquiring tweens struck up conversation with myself. I don't know what came over me but mid conversation I suddenly switched into undercover agent mode for no particular reason and started communicating cryptically into the iolite taking care to use the phonetic alphabet. The iolite has a darth vader noise as it pumps butane to heat the vape which made for a very convincing appearance. They bolted off with the ferocity of a deer in flight for its life, let's just say that I was Romeo Oscar Foxtrot Lima'ing a few minutes later when I had realised what I just did . Never have I felt like more of a suave double oh badass.

I bought one when they first came out and find it vaporizes weed really well, which is all I've ever run in it. The major negative for me is that it is somewhat noisy, and when you turn it off there is a 3 minute purge cycle it goes through while still making noise. This is only a problem when stealth is needed. I used it nearly daily for a couple years, but put it down when the Magic Flight Launch Box came along. Portable vaporizers rock, each being a mix of brilliance and inconvenience, and which is best depends what your criteria are.

embracethevoid, did you use any kind of bedding when you vaped the spice with it or did you just bung it in?

I just checked this site out for the launch box, it looks great. When vaping in this do you add spice to an herb or can you just put straight spice in and vape?

I haven't vaped spice through it, what I said is based purely on intuition & the geometry of the vaporiser.

Essentially you will definitely need a bedding as the temperature is 190 celsius and spice vaporises much lower than that. There is a spike that runs through the centre of the bedding area which helps keep the whole volume hot so might want to avoid having your spice touch it.

It seems that it would be divine for vaping spice infused weed but something tells me it's probably not a good vape for trying to hit breakthroughs unfortunately. But then again the fact that it's at 190 celsius while spice vapes at such a low temperature might mean that it all goes pooof very fast and gives you a huge hit.

Hopefully someone with direct experience can chime in.

Only ever used my Iolite for cannabis. Works very well for that as stated. Almost three years (purchased it used on craigslist too) and it still works as it should.

I had sold a bunch of them at the store I used to manage.

Had one for a while; ended up giving it away. I much prefer the Arizer Solo Vape. Just my two cents. The iolite does what it's supposed to though.

I have been using this now for some time with weed. Its wonderful for that. However, recently during a pharma session that didn't really take me where I wanted, I had a little idea. Knowing that just putting the spice straight into the chamber will destroy it, I mixed it through with some weed.

This was awesome. I love the weed and spice combination, it guarantees that my trip will be really good, it also guarantees that I remember precisely jack shit from the experience. Next time I will take some rue extract orally then mix the spice with something neutral such as mullein.

I hate trying to work my machine when I'm already tripping. This just takes all the effort out of it. In fact I'm just going start out with this. It's a shame that you can't vape harmalas alks in this, then it would be perfect.

so it is a good changa vape?

Only if you take your harmalas orally or smoke it before hand. A dmt only changa is the only option here. I believe that the harmalas vaporise at a higher temp than the iolite will reach, unless it can be modified to do so.

I didn't infuse the weed with spice, only mixed it through manually. I would imagine that infusing it would improve the experience. I think the metallic walls and center pin of the chamber become too hot and destroy the dmt on contact so I'm sure there was a little wastage. An infusion with some porous material such as cannabis or mullein would shield the spice form the metallic parts better perhaps.

I've been experimenting with this a fair bit since my last post. This thing is wonderful. When used with a MAOI it produces a really good vapahauscha experience. For me, these experiences are best in complete darkness, which is inconvenient when you have to fanny about with your machine, juggle a hot lighter and then find the light switch. I can now have my darkness from the outset and the slow delivery method means that I can build into as strong or mild a trip as I desire.

Instructions for the best Iolite-DMT experience:

Load the chamber with a bed of well ground weed/mullien.

Add part of your pre-weighed DMT, then more weed, then more DMT and build it up in layers. Your regular breakthrough dose of DMT should suffice, there doesn't seem to be as much wastage as I once thought. Pack the weed a little more tightly than you might otherwise in order to hold the DMT in place once it becomes runny.

Take your preferred MAOI. (I have been using rue extract taken orally.)

Wait 30mins. (For the last 5mins you can begin heating the vaporiser.)

Find a comfy spot, in complete darkness and enjoy. Later you can top-up with more if you so choose.

Warning:
Your vaporiser will taste like DMT for a couple of uses after, you may choose to aquire a replacement chamber and tube (auction site). Weed improves the taste of DMT, DMT does not improve the taste of weed.
