Hey you guys.

Just wanting to ask if anyone feels the same:
Recently I have been going heavy on purifying/extracting and tweaking my methods as best as I can and I must say: This is more fun (for me anyways, could be because I'm a chemist) then actually tasting the fruits of my work.

I have never experienced a breakthrough experience, I think I am still a little bit afraid of it, though I don't think fear is the right word - I just have a very strong respect for the molecule at hand and want to be perfectly sure that I want to do it before I actually do it. Mild doses are quite fun but they are over so quickly that I enjoy other hallucinogens more atm.

Interested in hearing other stories Smile

I know what you mean. Extracting is a lot of fun.

My favourite part is when you get to scrape the result from your dish at the end with a razor. Seriously satisfying.

I really feel like I have achieved something Smile

I also take great pleasure in sharing with others who would not have access to these states without my help. It's a great feeling.

Absolutely the same feeling here. I think there will be more people like us here.

I have to say I also enjoy to taste my products Smile but the excitement when extracting is much stronger.

This is true for so many; and it applies outside the realm of psychedelics, as well: more fun to plan gardens and grow your own food than it is to eat it; more fun to build your own furniture than it is to sit in it. etc.

People DO love to be constructive, and to create things that wouldn't exist without their efforts.

...and that's especially true regarding something one sees as good (like a chemical that allows to you experience new worlds), and which is prohibited to you by others.

Freedom, baby!

That be the spirit, it's a pity though that for many other interesting extractions you would need rather sophisticated lab equipment (I am pretty well equipped as of now but Soxhlet extractors and other glassware isn't cheap) and a lot of chemicals which are not easy to get.

Many governements make it so difficult to access chemicals it really looks like they are trying to kill the scientific curiosity. Of course one should go to university and study what he finds interesting there but I don't see why you can't do something like small reactions and experiments at home too.

Apart from the chemistry (which I'm seriously interested in but don't have the means of starting myself) I share your exact sentiments, I've had one serious breakthrough experience which has literally changed my life in unfathomnable ways, all for the better.

The 3 times I've smoked up (changa) after my breakthrough there has always been some anxeity about it, like it's not the right place or time, I just want to be sure about it and I think it'll be a fairly long while before I do so again, my mind is just not sure and honestly, I've found more profoundly changing experiences through meditation which has started to become a bit part of my life.

I love the extraction process!Love

Every single step....every minute of it.

Then when I throw the jars in the freezer...it's like the night before X-mas when I was a kid....

All in bed with white flakes swirling in my head as I sleep...

Wake up over the next few days....run to the freezer....peep inside to see the progress...

"Did Santa come?"

Then the day finally comes...gettin my coffee filters out and start pourin!

It is awesome to see the product on the pyrex....all like..."I did this...ME!"

But for me it is equally as satisfying to load up the GVG and let the Molecule show me why I did all this in the first place. Thumbs up

Extraction is really cool, but honestly I would have to say entering hyperspace is WAY more profound for me. I'm not trying to take away from the extraction process, but I've made chicken fettuccine alfredo that was more complicated.

I appreciate and get great satisfaction from extracting DMT , but in no way does that compare to the breathtaking, awe inspiring nature of the DMT realm.
I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin

I agree with Ray (btw DOPE avatar man). The whole mad scientist feeling fades fast after doing it a few times. Brewing ayahuasca on the other hand, for myself, I found was pretty profound. Staying with the brew the whole time praying, smudging, giving intention, and listening to a helpful mix gave me a real heady hard on.

Yeah well that's why I like to stir things up a bit. I think I will be trying to distill the freebase DMT as soon as I get a good vacuum source. That would be a very efficient purification step. Also I have to find a good way to implement a activated charcoal wash, who knows, maybe I'll write a tek when I'm done with my research and got the best results.

Thanks fairbanksSmile I've always wondered if that's you in your avatar? I get this male Native American warrior vibe from your posts. I imagine some warrior shaman in the woods of AlaskaRazz

I really want to try Ayahuasca. It's definetly the next step for me on my journey.

nigl - that would be awesome if you used you superior skills as a chemist to write a new tekThumbs up
I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.

yeah i love extracting. theres something about bonding with the plant and its chemicals in their various forms and tweaking them. I think a lot of the extraction process and what you get from it depends on which way you do it and how long you spend doing it. Sometimes I like to do extractions with non ground material.. like just chucking heaps of twigs and branches in and having to boil for like 18 hrs. I like extracting like that sometimes to get deeper with the brew, establish my intentions and pour them into it... it makes smoking it something special

you don"t like extracting? Or you think this thread is sad? If sad, would it be the same measure of sadness on a cooking forum?
People are thinking you are troll, i think you are intelligent and funny, was it you who got the hump a while ago over the ethanol extraction? If this is the case and you are bitter and trolling don"t worry, come join us, laugh with us, not at us, let us hold you close to our collective mental bosom and mop your fevered brow mon petit choufleur.
