I am thnking about trying DMT but I am having difficulty grasping the idea of unity of consciousness. I mean people talk about how the "lens" of perception allows people to see and experience things differently. How differently? What is the difference between I and other people?

Sometimes it seems like everything is a dream (with physical rules). Like other people are just imaginations as myself the main character who is also an imagination.

When I try to visualize that this is true for everybody I get extremely confused. How can we all be experiencing this "Dream/Reality/Whatever" from different viewpoints? How does that work?

Or what if I am really just an idea? My whole life and experience is just an idea or string of ideas? What does that even mean?

How does one experience the reality behind the illusion?

Thanks.

When your body and mind breaks down into pure energy, and is sent across time & space integrating into EVERY single atom and quark of existence, then reassembled into "Normal consciousness", then you will have experienced the unity of consciousness, realizing that you are part of an infinite story, and answering every one of your questions, all at once.
This is possible with or without DMT IMHO, but DMT assures that this is atleast a possibility in my experience.

As far as everyone having different perspectives, yet being unified as one; imagine being a universe that wants to view itself, instead of just watching itself, it creates independent, unique, yet connected consciousness to have experience and observe....itself. Thumbs up Hope that made sense.

Mushrooms can be very unifying as well.

Hope I answered some of your questions!

The simplest way to think of it, IMO, is that we all share one collective "soul", and that soul is engaged in experiencing the world through many seperate bodies at the same time.

Another way to picture it, is that "You", and "Me", and "Him", are like individual cells that make up part of the body of a larger being, each cell carrying in it's DNA the master blueprint for the whole organism. Although each cell is seperate and unique, and each has it's own function and purpose, they are all joined up together like puzzle pieces, collectively forming a much bigger and more complex picture than any one of them could conceive from within it's own subjective viewpoint.

But metaphors only go so far, really there's no way to understand it but to see it for yourself.
No direction but to follow what you know,
No direction but a faith in her decision,
No direction but to never fight her flow,
No direction but to trust the final destination.
