I don't know if those exercises help, but it sounds like bodywork. Like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v98TQ3xF5fU I know there is some literature on this

i know from personal experience with trauma and violence that after comes twitching and shaking just like TRE says, it all lines up with my own observations, including coming back to re-negotiate parts of life you were once overwhelmed by. scientology, cult leaders, exorcism, spirit quests, psychoanalysis, deep moments of confrontation, all bring on the sensation of uncontrollable, compressed energy and muscular tensions being released. following that, greater well being, ease, energy. tension always has meaning.

i actually found out about TRE in this thread a few days ago, and read 'Waking the Tiger-Healing Trauma by Peter A. Levine'. considering getting a copy of Bercellis book. pretty good stuff, hunting the error down to the flesh, i've tried some of it the last couple days and sure enough, found the twitching i had been analyzing for a long time come right up. for the first time it occurred to me to instigate and thaw this energetic strata through involuntary release. so high five for mentioning it...

I've looked into the exercises as well. One of the exercises was simply shaking your wrist and this would lead to involuntary arm/body shaking... They also call these shakes "Neurogenic tremors" which has no medical background and if you look it up on google it brings you to the trauma release exercise website. On their website they also show you this video of a poor polar bear dying and doing the death shakes (neurons firing off randomly as they break down causing muscles to contract), yet the TRE people say that he's just releasing trauma from a stressful chase...

While there are cases of people who have involuntary twitching from PTSD, this is b/c their blood pressure goes up with their anxiety in flashbacks. They're not releasing trauma from this twitching, it is a symptom of their flashback to the original traumatic event.

I do not understand how intentionally inducing tremors on yourself helps you release trauma, if the TRE people claim that tremors are caused by trauma... That's ass backwards. Isn't that inducing a symptom of the issue you're trying to release...? If anything I see that just making it worse. In fact many people have posted on the TRE content that they've gotten injured doing these exercises. Either way, the TRE "neurogenic tremors" have nothing to do with DMT shakes.

ah, well, i've stated my case as it stands. i'm not categorically proposing the entire system is perfect, but i know certain things about what these physical symptoms mean, from a basic do-this, this-happens way. but don't do what don't work for you.

^ As these molecules alter your conscious experience, they can also alter your neural temperature setting and serum glucose level systems as well.
