Ok so =] Craziest place ive gone to, salvia realm. Insane. I only went there once, after smokin salvia, and almost went back I think after taking a dose of mushrooms and dam near passing out. I've smoked DMT, never went anywhere(however ive never ripped like my life depended on it with DMT either) Same place? Similar? I'm starting to think that these are specific realms, but idk. I dont know why you would take me seriously, I mean after all I am JeStKiDDiN ;]

Very different. Much more pleasant in my opinion. Salvia is a ROUGH ride. DMT is equally, if not more mindblowing. But much more enjoyable in my experience. Coinci-Transcendentalism

I'm very curious about this as well, as I have not had the pleasure (or perhaps displeasure based on others experiences ) of trying salvia yet.. though I am very keen. I get the impression too that there are differen't realms that certain entheogens can take us which can differ greatly in their construct and purpose.

Nice avatar pic....I saw it recently in a corporate meeting. Great movie. Explored the DMT 5 times ( 3 deeply) salvia twice. Very very weird. I need to look better. Seems confusing compared to the crystal clear clarity of DMT.

Ive only been able to breakthrough on dmt. Ive smoked salvia a couple times, the largest dose i tried was last night but i only got slight visuals/body buzz. I think I'm going to try again tonight with a slightly higher dose.

Salvia breakthroughs are just sooooo unbelievably weird and beyond our normal modes of consciousness that its impossible for me to even begin to describe it. They rival dmt in that regard. The realms are very very different but the similarities are quick onset, short trip, "deja vu" feeling, and that quickly fading memory aspect..and the incredible bizareness...But besides that, there really isn't much similar about them for me. I have seen the same entity before in both realms, but the experience itself was totally different regardless of that i like quidding salvia much more than smoking it. smoking can be beautiful and amazing at times, but it can also be rough. i've found that its very very sensitive to set/setting, and even just a stray thought can turn the whole trip into an uncomfortable experience. quidding the leaf is slower, much more pleasant, and easier to work with

On my part never had a breakthrough on DMT but my experiences with salvia have always been quite enjoyable. It sometimes bring you to a point that you dont even know if you are still breathing but if you remain calm and focus you definitly see things in a different way. Often everything around me become one . As if everything was sewn together.
Had salvia plants for a while but never tried the quid.
universecannon: How many leaves do you use to quid? size of leaves?

I haven't broken through on DMT yet and I've only smoked Salvia once or twice. But I do like to read about the neurological effects of different chemicals Neurologically the effects of DMT and Salvia have nothing in common. DMT is a classical psychedelic, with primary action taking place on the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor. Salvia is a κ-Opioid receptor agonist and potent Dopamine (D2) partial agonist. Quote: It is now widely accepted that κ-opioid receptor (partial) agonists have dissociative and deliriant effects, as exemplified by salvinorin A
As for D2, it inhibits this biological function but looks like it hasn't been studied very much otherwise. I'd suspect a DMT breakthrough would have more in common with an LSD thumbprint while Salvia would be closer to a k-hole.

You don't need a thumb print to get there, although thats gotta be orders of magnitudes more intense 0___0 i've never heard of salvia being anything like a k-hole, but i've never done K so i can't really comment on that

They are totally different, but there are certain kind of similar elements, like the atmosphere sometimes or some of the patterns inbetween the fabric. But in essence, dmt is a very pure awe-inspiring psychedelic, and salvia is a dissociative-psychedelic with alot of disturbing weirdness. Like if you look at their molecule structures, it's funny how they look pretty much exactly how you would imagine them feeling like.
Here's a rough example on how my salvia trip can start out: "Hmm, things are getting weird, what is that thing over there, hmm, this is a bit too much, what should I do, I'm just gonna hold on tight, wait, hold on tight, what, hold on right, hold mold on right, hold + told / mold = tight * right? hold + old * old^wait * hmm = what = what = what = what = what..." Which is followed by a very bizarre realm where the glitching thought train is transformed into a very intense action music and the local entities are singing and laughing at you with an insane and violent sense of humour.
Here's a rough example on how my dmt trip can start out: "Hmm, things are getting weird, I can't feel my body, I feel like an alien, this is so familiar, just gonna close my eyes, oh my god what is that, that is so familiar, so beautiful, WHAT IS THAT, OH MY GOD THATS -- HOLY S-- NO!! REALLY?!? *%$& HOW COULD I FORGET!! @$£*#&*% OOOooOOOooooOOOO" Which is followed by alot of extra-meaningful, jaw-on-the-floor moments, transcending abstractions, becoming universes, etc..

Same place? Similar? I'm starting to think that these are specific realms, but idk. Part of it in terms of not getting anywhere with DMT, salvia is much easier to smoke properly and feel the full effects from the respective dose than as with DMT. To me, they are nothing alike. DMT definitely seems more geared towards being experienced by human consciousness. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

PERFECT description- I know for me, this sounds precise, it's a hyper vivid earthquake- the "answer" is coming, and it's the most ecstatic experience- and all of a sudden, you realize that it's too much, and it's taking you out of yourself, you can literally feel yourself being pulled out by knowledge and perception that is too much to be beared in physical form- and that's why I always think I have died- it's at that point that everything changes- the experience becomes completely metaphysical and out-of-body, because what I am experiencing doesn't appear to be able to be handled "in this world" until I come back. It's just life changing. There is no time, just infinite wonder on the edge of the riddle of existence.

If you don't mind, then it would be good to hear about the two appearances of the same entity. I have trouble imagining anything that could appear in both realms.

Dude yea, super glitched! I broke through. Totally obviously laughing directly at my expense, then i broke through again Then they looked at me after their cover had been blown. . . . And thats all you guys get to KNOW for now, since ive never heard of anyone getting past tht point ;} I dont know why you would take me seriously, I mean after all I am JeStKiDDiN ;]

**sidenote in response to some statements earlier in this thread I actually find dmt to have more in common with psilocybin/psylocin than it has with LSD. Low doses of dmt, especially changa, remind me of a short/mild mushroom trip. Coinci-Transcendentalism

well, i think they are similar in power, but the content the light assumes after i breaktrough is completely distinct. I put it this way because i think it is somewhat the same realm, but what changes is how that omnipresent interconnected light appears to you. While the spice gives me light formations just wierd enough to my mind assimilate it somehow, and make comunication and interaction possible, and i am able to bring back something.... Sally is pure potential. light in its most abstract form, i cant dare to try to understand it, for me the best atitude to have is to simply be! zen mode on, and the trip goes super well! but one of my most amazing experiences was like this: It's a happy day and i feel in the right state to injoy a bowl of spice. I grab my bong, and realized that there where some burned herbs in the cone, so i just put a fairly big and beautifull cristal on top of it. Right on! Light it up, inhale the smoke, hold a bit, and youhuuu! straight to hipersp.... wow, wait, why are the walls starting to melt instead my mind being projected to hiperspace?? "Fuck!! now crosses my mind that the herbs on the cone where actually salvia 40x that a friend of mine smoked, and he didnt liked it, so there was a LOT of it still not burned... well, the only thing left to do is to lay back and enjoy the ride!" but as i lay down the giant picture of buda i have on the left side of my bed catches my atention.... and when i realize it i see a tridimensional (correction: multidimensional) alien buda coming out of the wall and floating in front of me! All the rest of my perception of reality was intact, i could see my room around me, my mind was completely clear, but in front of me was the most hiper realistic alien buda i ever "saw"! Even more real than in the DMT realms, because there reality is pure light, and here it seemed to have some matter, but very light, not so condensed as our boddy, somewhat translucid.. And with an amazing neon aura surrounding him, morphing from electrical purple, to electrical blue, electrical green, and ultra violet, very DMT style! I looked him/her in the eyes, and a very warm sensation invaded my heart chacra. there was a comunication of some sort, non-verbal, really really deep, and i cant explain it because i cant create a concept for what was transmited to me there. Then it faded away, and when its completely vanished, i feel as lucid as ever. Healing someone is an act of love, but how can you love someone whitout loving yourself first?

Wow! ^^ I don't know that I could handle that combo! haha. But like you said, at the point where you realized what was going on there wasn't much you could do but get into that zen mode and just try not to fight it! Coinci-Transcendentalism

You will see. Well, i did something very similar! after the 2nd coup, i decided to smoke one of my first enhanced leaf experiments with the following blend: 1g of spice 0,5g of calea 0,5g of salvia 40x extract 0,5g of pau d'arco of course the ridiculous amount of salvia overwhelmed a litle bit the other ingredients, and then at first i really felt the salvia greeting me, talking to me, and morphing with the spirit of ayahuasca. after that i couldnt feel either the salvia's spirit, nor the ayahuasca's. the fusion of both created a completely new "spirit", really cheerfull and joyfull! it was the happiest ayahuasca cerimonie i ever had! and had some really interesting insights also.
