Another one..

Had to change the luminosity a little bit. Prismacolors on black paper is nice to work with but I find that the colors don't pop out as much as I'd like. May have to find a better medium for that type of work.

Cyb- amazing as always... You're really building up an impressive portfolio in a short time.

Chaotic- if you enjoy building up from a black surface but find the paper to be limiting in terms of brightness/contrast, I'd like to suggest black gesso on medium density fiberboard. Use 3 coats applied with a short nap roller, and sand between coats. You will then get greater vividness from the Prismacolors... But you'll also have the option of building it up with oils or acrylics, either as a spot accent or as a complete second pass. Finish with a clearcoat (for acrylics or pencils, a spray on gloss acrylic varnish; for oils, Damar varnish).

Bob Ross brand makes black gesso; you may need to order it online.

Would black acrylic work the same as black gesso?

mixing the black acrylic paint with white gesso would be better than using straight black paint according to orion, if your not able to find the black gesso anyway. It gives it better grip and more uniform coverage

Very kick ass work by the way man i really like the balance of organic and geometric shapes

Black acrylic paint suffers from evenness problems and isn't a great surface for colored pencils, as far as receptivity goes. Orion's suggestion works but doesn't produce as deep a black as black gesso, since white gesso contains titanium dioxide, which will lighten the black pigment by a few percent. It is a workable option though if the straight black gesso is not available.

That snake-like animation a couple pages back is UNBELIEVABLE!! I can't tell you how many times have seen nearly identical visions.

ChaoticMethod,

Your last few works you put up are so interesting. I was wondering, is your avatar a work of yours? Is it posted anywhere? I'd like to see it a bit bigger!

I'll be posting up a new drawing soon, so you folks just be patient. I know, I know, you can't wait, but it's still not finished.

Just kidding, I'm rather intimidated by the level of work on here. I feel like I'm going to be posting up a three year old's crayon drawing.)
