So after the video game company folded I started my own company doing web design and a little freelance illustration work. Here's a pair of techno album covers and one of the rave flyers I did for a music promoter in Madison in the early 2000's. I also got into some sculpting, costume work and SPFX type stuff for a few years, but wasn't making much money and didn't stick with it. I'll see what else I can dig up from this time period tomorrow, then get into my main obsession for the last 6 years or so - glassblowing.

Amazing artwork Crazyhorse! The first rave I ever went to in my life was in Madison Back in 1992. A childhood friend of mine still djs out there, he goes by Adeptus. The raves back then were all hardcore techno/acid house parties...stuff like dj hyperactive.

This is a video mix I made. I hope you guys get some enjoyment out of it.

I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Fwiw, I'm pretty sure the GVG uses (and the ceramic top piece fits into) a 14/20 ground glasss joint. It looks like it would be pretty easy for you to make something similar to your custom piece above that could accommodate that top piece.

Hell, even in the piece you have (or one similar to it), if you were able to turn the bottom of the inside of that joint receiver into a bowl or significant inward taper, you could stuff it with a volcano liquid pad and drop the ceramic fitting on top of it and voila! Or something like that...in my non-professional opinion Razz

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed seeing your art...and your glass is really great. Keep up the good work Thumbs up

Thanks! Big grin If the GVG uses a standard 14/20 or 14/24 joint, it should fit in just about any glass on glass piece. I have a friend who makes clear glass on glass sherlocks very similar to the GVG. I'm not sure how big the real ones are but his are pretty huge, about 10" tall, with a large kickstand coming off the bowl end. I mentioned it the other day and he said he'd never heard of a GVG, but the shaping is very similar, right down to the "maria" in the neck.

I'd like to try it but I don't think they sell the ceramic disks individually, they want you to buy the whole shebang. So it's not something I can easily add to the pieces I sell, a GVG owner would have to use their own. But if you know where I can get the disks by themselves, please do let me know! I'd be interested to try one, and see if it's much different then steel wool alone. I'm just not $100 interested. Wink

I did about 6 or 8 flyers for this promoter around 2000-2001, and had a good time with it. But then the cops apparently started cracking down on the rave scene in Madison. Every time someone would try to throw one, they'd show up and shut things down. So pretty soon the promoter guy moved off somewhere else, and that was the end of it for me. I don't know if they're still being that harsh about it there, or if it was a temporary thing. But I'd bet things are probably back to normal by now.

Anyway thanks! I wasn't able to see your video, the link just took me to a list of recent youtube posts.

you can definitely get the discs on there own. There was someone who found them and posted on here about it but i dont remember the thread. They were a little bigger than ther GVG filter but if you can make your own class housing i dont think it will make any difference

Cool, thanks! I did some searching and I think I found what you mean, I guess they're similar disks made for the silver surfer vape. And cheap enough to be worth experimenting with! Sorry but I just can't see dropping $100 on something I could make in about 15 minutes with $2 worth of glass. Laughing

I hope you can knock something up, i imagine you will.

the price of the GVG is a funny topic, lots of people say its to expensive and that they cant afford it, but they dont realise that it will drastically reduce there dose size so effectively paying for itself.

however if i could make my own, i would.
