Namaste, I'm new here (due to forgetting my old username lol) but anyways swiy have a quick question about freezing for crystalization? My question is this basically...is it possible to freeze it too long? swim is worried..ive had it in the freezer for 3 going on 4 days now, and it was at first yellow..then orange...now theres white forming all around the orange and im worried it may be "frostbite" or like "freezerburn" os something? its being stored in a glass liquor bottle, which is gunna be a bitch to scrape were gunna probaly have to break it when Swim ,luckily all the crystals are mostly at the bottom of the bottle so ..yeah :s
But yeah so my question is did i freeze it too long? is that possible? and it is better or worse to leave it in longer or shorter? Swims friend says his gut tells him its ok and the longer the better so it forms more and more crystals, but swiy disagrees. so i figured id ask the nexus. not to rush, but its kind of an urgent emergency question, so if anyone can try and answer this right away or as soon as possible swiy would appreciate it so so much. thankyou so much. also once i strain it with cheesecloth and dry it etc, is it ready for consumption at that point as is? im used to doing slow evap is why im not really sure..

You can leave it in the freezer for a couple days and it shouldn't matter. If anything, you're just making sure that all the DMT does end up precipitating out of solution. And yes, after you've filtered and dried it, and it no longer smells like solvent you're good to go. You can do a recrystallization if you'd like, but admittedly I don't, and I've had hundreds of positive experiences. I usually leave my DMT in the freezer for a day, but I'm pretty sure I've left it in for much longer than that, and it hasn't adversely affected it to my knowledge.

Yea I just yesterday pulled some jars out that have been in the freezer for 3 1/2 days with no problems. I'd say your fine.

So the white thats taking over the orange and yellow is a good thing then id imagine? i was worried it was freezerburn haha. That must mean the longer you leave it the more pure it gets? because generally whiter is purer..

Well the DMT I get out of the freezer is usually all white with maybe some yellowish impurities here or there, particularly if the naptha is being recycled. That's not freezerburn, that's DMT

Mine usually takes three to four days as well. I don't think you have much to worry about.

I've had these things that grew up closer to the top of my jars, that actually looked like real ice, not spice. It's weird. But, normally when I take them out, before I get a chance to see what it is, it's already melted away. And, it couldn't have been spice, because I use a glass dropper(I really can't, for the life of me, remember what their actual name is), it's like an eye dropper, but, way way longer. I use that to put the naptha/solvent in the jars I use to freeze. They never touch anywhere near the top, but, there always seems to be some frost up there.
