Quote:Miracle Frootie Miracle Fruit Tablets are the taste sensation that is sweeping the nation. Miracle Frooties transform ordinary foods into something extraordinary. What is miracle berry? The Miracle Berry (Synsepalum dulcificum) is a fruit native to West Africa. It is also known as Miracle Fruit or Miraculous Fruit. The berry is approximately the size of a cranberry and it contains the glycoprotein, Miraculin, which modifies taste perception. Link: FrootiesI am curious if taking a "Miracle Frootie" would make the ayuasca more drinkable? One review says "The Tabasco sauce almost tasted like a V8 juice EXCEPT the tip of your tongue can still sense the heat. So it was sweet, but the tip of my tongue told me otherwise. I now realize why people shake it onto their tongue in the videos." What are your thoughts? Has anyone else tried these to make their DMT more palatable?

I remember for my first ayahuasca experience from a few years ago, I had read somewhere that shoving mint up your nose helps both with the taste and also with the nausea apparently. I only did it that one time, and I certainly still got nauseous, but I don't recall really tasting much. Now I just hold my nose and chug it down. Holding my nose, I don't taste it nearly as badly. That seems like a really cool idea. I've heard about the miracle fruit for a long time, but never actually tried it. Combining that with Aya seems to make good sense to me. I'd say give it a try, as long as they're not a problem with MAOIs what harm could it do? No direction but to follow what you know, No direction but a faith in her decision, No direction but to never fight her flow, No direction but to trust the final destination.

I've played with some of this stuff from Thinkgeek previously... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miraculin is the molecule at play here. I'm pretty sure it's just flips around sweet/sour foods - things that are otherwise bitter I don't think would really be affected. (although can't hurt to try)

I remember reading about that stuff a good while ago, and I do seem to recall it only flipped certain things to sweet, I believe the sour tastes as you noted. It would be great if someone could find something to help with the taste though. As much as some people would argue that it is part of it, I try to remain open-minded to evolution. I ordered loads of these a few years ago, they were pretty fun to play around with. Made lemons taste like the most delicious fruit I've ever had. Made orange juice taste like concentrated orange cordial. Made Guinness taste pretty weird too. Lemons and limes were definitely the tastiest. Some people say that vinegar is even palatable.O_o I am a piece of knowledge-retaining computer code imitating an imaginary organic being.
