I dunno bud! I have only really done changa, but have never had any lung issues. Seems like some of the herbs used in my changa are probably harder on the lungs than pure DMT. And I've done the stuff pretty regularly for stretches.

Honestly, I'd say lay off the weed for a bit, and see how that goes. I read a thing on Erowid today about the effects of mj smoke on the lungs here.. As lovely as the pretty green plant is, it's not pure sunshine all the time, it can have some drawbacks. I hardly get a chance to do it cause of drug tests. Sad

And if nothing clears up after a bit, definitely see the doc. Could be a sign of more serious issues.

Do a Re-X on it and I imagine it will be less harsh.
Anything said by this account, "Cosmic Rift", is complete and utter bullshit. In the event that it's not completely made up then it is a lie, exaggeration, or I am caught up in the act of role playing.

There was one member in particular, can't remember who, that was a honey mooner. Don't recall him saying anything about any issues with his lungs. Maybe he'll pass by this post and give his take.

Do a search for "honeymoon" or "honeymooner" or something like that in the nexus search. Should popup some threads of people who "used it a lot" near the begining.

There's also the possibility of something in your spice that you don't want. A reX should fix that as cosmic rift said.

Your lungs are ingesting a basic substance. This is bound to have a negative effect on the lungs in one way or another, sooner or later. Try snorting some freebase and see how that feels on your sinuses. Not very nice, I bet... Part of the reason why DMT should be used infrequently IMO...

What would you consider good use? Cause once or twice a month doesn't seem that frequent to me. Although I use it much less, but that's mainly due to the high level of anxiety I get. I would like to be able to do it at that rate, and wouldn't think that was over using. Although it would also depend on each experience and I would feel that out as well.

"Vaporized" -> How?

Burning DMT (as a result of trying to smoke it) will break down the molecule in several compounds... Could be different kind of oxides, some containing nitrogen, indole-based, maybe some more simple aromatic compounds like benzene which are even carcinogenic and so on... That is why you want to vaporize, not smoke, so you'd only get the vaporized DMT in your lungs and no other breakdown compounds.

I do not guarantee that you are safe long term by smoking DMT, and I think its very understandable and logical that you'd get irritated lungs from smoking DMT, but vaporizing it properly (for example GVG, Inspirator MKII, etc,) should definitely be way safer and easier on the lungs.

Hard to say really, I guess it depends on other factors besides just DMT as well. Like, do you smoke cigarettes/ weed? Or have asthma? I have been getting some discomfort in my chest lately, mainly from smoking weed Bongs, which I have since stopped doing, but I also smoked my way through quite a bit of DMT / Changa last year, as in, a few times a day a few times aweek for a couple of months, before settling down to 1-2x a month. I haven't smoalked any in ages actually, despite getting the call, my life isn't in the best place for me to be doing such things.

That doesn't really answer the question, I know, but I think it's highly dependant on the individual. I'm going to be smoking DMT very infrequently from now on and looking to do Aya/Pharma instead.

If your body is complaining, listen to it.

I agree with your post, if your body is showing signs that something isn't right it's a good idea to change up what your doing to cause it. It's also a good idea to find the groove that fits you as far as frequency of use goes.

My life also isn't in the right moment to partake in the molecule either, but a part of me is telling me that's why it's the right time, my situation itself feels like it wants to show me something.

Do you smoke tobacco? Marijuana pure actually heals your lungs, it's been used to cure bronchitis for a very long time and removes a lot of the crap from your chest.

I would imagine that you're getting some impurity in your DMT, you shouldn't be getting that kind of result from vapour, although I don't know enough about it to comment really.

Again from my own short lived experiences with DMT it's something you should never abuse, maybe once or twice a year... perhaps it's the spices way of saying you need to lay off it entirely for a while, I know it's shown me that with the amount of psychedelics and various other drugs I have ingested over the last 4-6 months, it told me to take a huge step back and organise this reality for a bit.

Weed does not heal your lungs. You are inhaling burnt plant matter, tar, carcinogenic material. Maybe if you do it infrequently, but for regular smokers, I am sure the frequency of use negates any positives. I have smoked it regularly both with and without tobacco and both eventually led to 'smokers cough' / mild bronchitis type symptoms after a while. Nothing smoked is good for your lungs long term...

I developed a cough when I first switched to a VG.

Before I was using a bong and it would be quite natural to take hits good and deep. With the pipe style mechanism it took.some practice to get these hits deep enough and they must have settled too high up and caused irritation to a more sensitive area and hey presto, cough -> plegm..

Sound about right?

These hits are also much less effective as you're not absorbing the goods the way you should which is pretty much what you're coughing out I believe.

The spice I smoke is effectively glass and obviously with the VG I wasn't burning the goods so this is what I believe was going on.

I too was a honeymooner. Everybody seems to look externally for answers as to how much is appropriate. I think it's important to trust ourselves, and figure it out as it is different for everybody. I smoke about twice a month, though at first it was 5 days a week for a few weeks. It's certainly not sustainable, but I don't regret that, the experience was incredible. I learned to navigate the space in a way i never thought possible.

Anyways - I have never had problems with my lungs. I experienced some fatigue and body aches - which always concerned me. Particularly the body aches. I am a daily pot smoker as well. Which leads me to think that the problem is either the way you are vaporizing, or the quality of your spice. Most likely the latter.

Did you try ReX?

I think Endlessness might have hit the nail right on the head here. The first pipe I used was very similar to the one you describe. I experienced the same tightness and cough you describe. The mucus I coughed up tasted just as you describe. I since switched to the GVG and have had no peoblems.

I also have Asthma and smoked MJ for daily for about 10 years. I stopped after I found DMT. Weird but I just lost the motivation for MJ. Don't even miss it. Smoking MJ will decrease you lungs capacity by about 10% but as soon as you stop smoking it, the lung capacity will come right back.

I think your probably vaporizing part of the contents of your pipe and burning a good portion of it. I only indulge in Vaping with my GVG about 3-6 times a month and have had no ill effects. She takes good care of me! Thumbs up

Can someone explain the whole DMT being basic thing. I'm not very far into my chem and bio courses so I don't really know how specifically this effects the lungs. Ie, what does it do exactly and how serious is it?
