Yeah, I was thinking "impossible shape meets sri yantra" but I agree that it's lost some clarity. I'm thinking of keeping the triangles but separating them from the main shape and dropping them into the background, possibly going out of focus a little.

I could see that working. The smaller line weight and a slight blur would give it a depth of field effect that could be cool.

But if a small criticism isn't too out of line, personally I liked the way the vines looked much better in the original drawing, without the "twist". I thought it was more "Natural" and organic looking, and less busy. But I'm sure it'll end up looking great either way. What kind of media will it be finished in? Thanks I'll try to play around with the levels of twist and see how it looks. And it will be finished in 3D with some post-processing in photoshop. I've modeled about 50% now so I'll try to post pics soon.. And thanks for the good vibes! Oh and like I wrote in the OP, you can get on the next project if you want, which is for the Fun-section graphic. It will follow right after this one.

Thanks Daeda! Fun section sounds like fun! No direction but to follow what you know, No direction but a faith in her decision, No direction but to never fight her flow, No direction but to trust the final destination.

Was able to retrieve some of my subtools and I recreated the rest. Now I'll make him a GVG and work out some kind of a background. Bill Cipher attached the following image(s): Ganesha - WIP6.jpg (374kb) downloaded 281 time(s).

Daedeloops, your art is brilliant man. If there is anything I can contribute just holler at me. have you ever taken that ferry from San Francisco to Berkeley and looked back and seen that while in Berkeley, San Francisco doesn't exist?

lol. Well im gettin closer, baby steps. I got the pics on the computer now but ran out of time this morning before i could post em. So I should be albe to do that tonight. I got a couple ideas that would be pretty cool for Wisdom, so ill post the sketches and we can talk about which one you guys think is the best fit.
Now as far as posting pics goes, whats the easiest way to do that? Im assuming it has something to do with the little mountain icon up there lol.

So I started painting today, putting in the basic... uhh... swishes ? Just the general overall direction of flow for the coming layers. The Lorenz attractor idea kind of limited the various ways I could stitch the faces together, so in the end I rejected that plan so I could play more. Maybe we will need to crop in a little bit for the final image? Not a problem for me. Thought I'd post anyway: Orion attached the following image(s): P1030929.JPG (332kb) downloaded 207 time(s).Art Van D'lay wrote:Smoalk. It. And. See.

You can either use the mountain icon to link images you've uploaded elsewhere (Facebook, Picasa, etc) or use the attach file option to host the images on the Nexus servers. I often get so caught up in trying to put a concept or pattern into a piece to the extent that the composition suffers for it. I've gotten a bit better about this but sometimes still have a hard time letting certain ideas go. I agree on the crop if the outer edges are going to remain mostly empty. Awesome start!

Ive always wanted to try one out, and I get asked this a lot, so perhaps I don't need it It's just straight up fine layers. Painting this way is tough on the brushes as there is a lot of friction, but to me it's worth it For models and sculpture though you can't beat a quality airbrush, I totally blew off the model building hobby for that reason. Macre In the larger piece I'm working on (which is going to be a bigger, beefier, full color 3D version of this - https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=21263), he'll be packing heat, makin' it rain and catching a smoke simultaneously. I may throw in some chained naked women chugging down 40's, a few rabid dogs and a luchador, just for extra good measure and subtlety, but first I will finish his less maniacal twin for our nexus project.

alright here goes, critiques welcome. the first 2 are the face of wisdom to me. Ive been drawin that guy for years, hes my shaman. The 3rd one is a sketch i was working on where the full moon would be direclty above him, sugesting that it is his 3rd eye with aroura borealis in the sky. as the colored ribbons in the sky get nearer to the moon mushrooms and aya vines and other plant teachers grow from it. i was thinking for the wisdom section he would be sitting against a tree with fungus and moss and vines growing from him, as though hes been sitting there for a thousand years. the last one I call Facescape. personally i think the shaman, (or shamoon) is a better fit, but i also thought the facescape implies the ultimate wisdom, that of our planet, and suggests that it is concious. so these are the ideas that I would like to audition for the wisdom spot. Im thinking id do an oil or acrylic painting for these but i might just have to bust out the airbrush to speed things up. I like your shaman guy, but in some ways the facescape holds more promise- it shows a greater sence of ancient foundation. But you could achieve this with the shaman too- one thing you may want to try is to look at the rough layout Daedaloops sketched out for the front page, see what the size and shape of your window is, and consider which one might fit best. That may help decide it. Here's my latest treatment of the impossible shape. It still needs background, but this is my favorite so far. I actually went on a 15mg excursion tonight, right before giving this shape the treatment you see here. Guyomech attached the following image(s): impossible4.jpg (174kb) downloaded 191 time(s).

@ Tokapelli...I like both the Dude and the Facescape....could you incorporate them both? Facescape as a distant background/perspective, slightly out of focus/faded maybe for depth. and have the Shamoon up front with tree/moss/shrooms etc. Also really like your Tokapelli bong avatar.. @ Guy...the shape just gets better, not sure about the green in the blend though...more punchy saturation rather than pastelly, like the bubblegum one. And could you 'hollow out' the new detail on the corners? @ Orion liking the Swishy Airbrush look @ Art are you going to lose/change the Bling Merc badge? ( maybe put a mushroom in it!?) Glad you recovered the files.. It's all coming together lovely...exciting times... cyb Please do not PM tek related questions Reserve the right to change your mind at any given moment.
