HOLA!!!!!

This thread is for guitar player's to share their psychedelic jams on.

Improvisational playing while under the influence of a psychedelic substance is wildly encouraged here!!!! Laughing

Acoustic/Electric or both....what ever you perfer.

If you have a planned-out-riff or whole song that's cool too!! Just lay it down!! DIG??

Please specify the psychedelic substance you were on at the time of the recording as well as
whether the recording is a improvisational(spontanious) jam or a planned out jam.

Thanks for playing along...I only ask that we keep it limited to guitar/stringed insturment music. Thanks.

Obviously if you have a whole band or whatever that's awesome too.

Techniques I use for space jamming.....

Sub breakthrough vaped DMT works but sometimes I accidentally take too much and have to just lie down instead ....Low dose changa does a nice job as well.

-Directly After a major DMT experience Is nice...always plenty of insperation there

-My favorite substance to play music on is either LSD, mescaline or both at once. Very happy

-Ayahusca works really well sometimes but other times I just can't get up off the floor so....

The most effective method I have found is to simply meditate while playing the music.

Inner silence and all that zen stuff. Neutral

My story and music.

So I mentioned on another guitar thread that I had been learning to sing and play acoustic at the same time using the help of DMT. There's more to the story if anyone wants to read on..

Playing electric guitar under the influence of various psychedelic substances has always been a passion of mine up until about one year ago when a tragic(stupid) incident involving a breaking water pipe stem nearly cost me my left thumb entire.

It was the most tramatic physical injury I have ever had in my entire life. A very long shaft of broken glass completely preforated my area where my thumb meets my hand.

I made a very frantic and bloody desicion to not go to the hospital for treatment because I knew for sure that they would amputate my thumb due to the massive extent of the injury coupled with the fact that the injury involved a old dirty-resiny bong stem.

SO instead of going to the hospital I actually drank ayahuasca right on the spot and prayed to God above for him to heal me. Talk about a bummer trip man.

I washed my wound out in the sink and water flowed freely through the hole in my thumb.
I poured rubbing alcohol directly on it and it became and out of body experience I will never forget.

The glass went through the cartlidge and bone and my thumb was dislocated severely.

After four months of Aya rehab I was able to pick up an acoustic and slowly strum chords

Now that it has been almost a full year since my injury I am able to play the electric guitar again. Unfortuantely there is permanant numbness and my hand will never function quite the same. Ultimately I will have to learn to play with my right hand wich I actually think will work out.

Anyway-

These are the some of the first recordings I have been able to make since my accident.(stupid mistake)

So in a way I'm not only documenting my progress with learning to play the guitar with psychedelics but also I am documenting the healing process with my hand using only AYA. .

So this is me playing on a low dose of LSD with some caapi smoke. Recorded today.

One is a raw electric guitar jam and the other is me attempting to cover an old Sublime tune.

How I usually think of new riffs is to just try and let go and playwhatever comes to mind sometimes it sucks and sometimes there are occasional gems contained within the space jams.

For the record I have never had guitar lessons...lol- I realize it shows..Embarrased

Very happy

Nice thread man! I'm really interested to hear some psychedelic shredding.

Sucks about your thumb, don't stress too much about the numbness though I had a similar incident where I narrowly escaped cutting my wrist with a mirror I dropped and instead cut down to the bone on my palm. It doesn't sound as gnarly as yours but I also had a lot of numbness that I thought would never get better; it's been about 3 or 4 years now and the nerves seem to have regrown completely. Hopefully the same will happen for you!

Thanks archaic_architect for the kind words

I'm hoping we got some other psychedelic improvisationists in here....

Improvisation is what it's all about IMO

Great idea! The only problem for me is that I am a fairly irregular psychedelic user, I go through alternate periods of abstinence and use, but I do take from my psychedelic experiences and use the feelings I get from them almost all the time in my improvisations and music (one of my bands is a psychedelic stoner jam band - kind of a cross between "Live at Pompeii" era Pink Floyd and bands like Kyuss and The Sword), I like to think it's one of the bigger things that contributes to the way I play music.

I'd love to contribute but usually the most altered I'll get whilst playing is through cannabis/cannabinoids, and I leave the heavier psychs for my alone time in silence or with mellow music in background...

So my question is, can I still contribute? Big grin

InnerPathsToOuterSpace......

Yeah! Pleased

allow me to loosen the restrictions a bit...

Marijuana definitely counts- as does other stuff, just plz indicate the substance your using what ever that may be.

Obviously hard drug use would be discouraged but if it's something that someone thinks sounds really good then w/e you were on at the time will do I suppose.

Sober contributions are accepted as well but will be held up to exessive psychedelic scutiny by tripping people such as myself.

I look forward to your contribution Smile

PS I see where your coming from but....if you have never played the guitar on mescaline or LSD...then you are missing out on entire worlds of delight that words could never express..

Awesome Eliyahu! I have played guitar through some whacky effects pedals on the come up of an acid trip and found it was pretty damn trippy, especially once I started using a ring modulator, ha ha.

Anyways, I'll go through my collection and find some stuff that has been recorded enhanced Twisted Evil

I have also played on the afterglow of a spice journey too and found it quite easy to find the cosmic spirit within myself, I'll have to remember to record myself next time!

Cool stuff, Eliyahu.

Not me, but my sister made this up and recorded this while I was on mushrooms and smoking some pot a while back. Was a really beautiful moment.

My sister was influenced by her own personal genius and of course, a little bit of very high quality marijuana I shared with her.
“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Yo i'm digging that Electric Jam man. Sounds like you've got a pretty good understanding of what you're doing! Keep it up fam! I know what you mean about the "after dmt burst of creativity"! Sometimes i sit in my studio chair to blast off because i know that as soon as i come out of it i will be in the mood to jam! I love that warm happy afterglow! I also love playing guitar on mushrooms and lsd... makes you feel like a guitar god! haha.

Thanks for making this thread! I look forward to finally uploading some of these hundreds of recordings i have! I've never really shared most of the stuff so i'll be interested to hear what people think. Its mostly going to be rough/unfinished stuff but i don't think anyone here will discriminate like they do on the straight music forums i'm a part of : ) Thats why i love this community!

Now I shared these two in the other thread but i'll share it again so maybe some other people will check it out : )

Freestyle 5am Blues

This was under the influence of marijuana and adderall. lol. You say you are looking for improvosational stuff... well this was just totally off of my head at the time. I never wrote lyrics down or anything, i just sang. Its got the main guitar part, the lead guitar, vocals and back up. I did it on multiple tracks. I also recorded some percussion and some very rudimentary piano from a reason instrument.

The other is a guitar progression that i built on by adding synth/drums/bass/etc. It is definitely the more psychedelic of the two. Lyrics are highly influenced my marijuana/lsd/mushrooms/dmt. I even have a vocal sample from Altered states in there that mentions DMT. : )

Anywhere but here....

Eliyahu, what do you record with? Have you ever used REAPER? its a free DAW that is incredible. I'd recommend downloading it if you aren't already using it. Its allows multi track recording with effects/processing/VSTi's. Pretty much a watered down protools or cubase for FREE!

And finally, here is a little video of me shredding a riff i came up with.

This is a very short clip. I'll try to upload some of my longer videos to share. Highly influenced by my good friend mary jane.

*************************************************
EDIT: Uploaded some acoustic recordings on lunch
*************************************************

Here are a couple more marijuana induced originals. : )

Alright with me - Instrumental
Love this original progression

D Song Instrumental

Seems to be a crowd pleaser : )

Jazzy Mellow D

Love those major 7th chords!

Electric/acoustic Improvisation

This was my first time really playing/recording an acoustic/electric. I recorded this while stoned totally improv last year sometime. i've cut a few parts out and tried to leave the somewhat interesting parts. Its just a little freestyle jam.

I've always wanted to learn, especially since I started using psychedelics, but my sister is teaching meon days when we find the time to meet up, we live about fifty miles away from each other. I am still a complete noob, though. Razz

Ugh first time uploading something and it was in the wrong format so please forgive me.

This was recorded in studio during 2008, one live take (we could only record 4 songs on our budget, 1 take each) that's why you hear the guitar cable crackling like halfway through... The song had a basic structure but I always play around and improvise.. That's why i love this live recording.

I hope you guys will dig it

This is all me...1 electric guitar, 1 drumset, 1 acustic guitar, 1 digitec multieffects peddal, and an extremely primitive recording/editing technique....most recordings are one take improvisations using delay and built in drum machine. Some tracks are live drums but even those are improved Only 3 or 4 song are multiple takes with an actual idea.

Enjoy
