It will be my attempt to convey, as much or as well as I can, the ideas, feelings, and experiences if this weekend's conference, for the benefit of those of my brothers and sisters here not able to be here with us. Thursday's welcome night was opened with the story of an elder statesman of 60s strangeness...who said he had in his possession 60 pounds of dmt... And a great poetry slam from the contributors of the 1St ever journal of hyperdimensional poetry. "Christians often ask why God does not speak to them, as they believed God did in former days. When I hear such questions, it always makes me think of the Rabbi who was asked how it could be that God was manifest to people in the olden days whereas nowadays nobody ever sees God. The rabbi replied, 'Nowadays there is no longer anybody who can bow low enough.'" --Carl Jung

i was thinking earlier, would anyone record any of this show via video/audio. a live blog would suffice! a live blog would suffice! My thoughts exactly. Thanks CatholicPsychonaut it is much appreciated! The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call. You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.
And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.
Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

There is a team recording the event, with the ultimate goal of producing a movie-length edit "Christians often ask why God does not speak to them, as they believed God did in former days. There were some very interesting poems at the rollout reading for the hyperspaacial poetry journal. one older gent read a short except from a 1000 page book that was interestingly stream of consciousness like Finnegans wake. The event is primarily organized by grad students. There is such intellectual diversity here! I'll write more about today and myexperiences. I can't keep my eyes open. Rather than trying to"live blog" this will be a post talk transcription/distillation of the events rather than moment by moment, as I'm finding it damn near impossible to Swype what people are saying AND actually listen. Maggi Qunlan, spoke on Physical healing through use of psychedelics. she interviewed members of the Mapia Diame community. One woman was a bulimic for her whole adult life. The diame showed her that when she was a kid, she killed a cat who had scratched her. She didn't remember this event but she hatred herself because of it. All the treatments she'd tried were about trying to heal what had happened to her, she now understood that it was something SHE had done. Maggi also spoke of her own struggle with severe adult ADHD. Through aya use, she he's begun to believe that the growing diagnosis of ADD is a symptom of a new stage of evolution, that we are becoming a being capable of going in many directions at the same time psychologically. We are in the beginning stages of this, she says, but we must begin to understand and grow into it rather than suppress or pathologize it. A question was asked of Stephen Beyer regarding the death of that kid and the dumping if his body. Stephen has a blog entry about being a "well-informed consumer" when our comes to making a trip tip the jungle for aya. http://www.singingtothep...fely-to-drink-ayahuasca/He mentioned that some have suggested a "shamans code of ethics" the problem, Stephen said, if that anyone can put a code of ethics on their site and ignore it. But, what we need is an independent certifying body, which can inspect a group, then allow them to put the group's deal on their literature. Then consumers could go to the certifying body's site and know what to expect, at least from the business, nuts and bolts aspect "Christians often ask why God does not speak to them, as they believed God did in former days. Hamilton Morris from Vice Magazine discussed drug journalism, about the history of the research chemicals. Also, a question was asked regarding the accuracy of claims of extreme receptor downregulation through use of synthetic cannabis. He confirmed this. Saturday morning's session is about the why's and how's of setting up studies, the law of doing so, and the formulation of standards, training, and associations. Stephen Ross, MD, actually quoted a post from The Nexus at the end of his talk, as an argument for how DMT could be used to help physicists develop their ideas. Agree totally. I'll write up an overview afterwards. Right now all processing power is dedicated towards listening, integrating and navigating Philly's roads... Lol Jeez it'd be nice to just meet up. I will say that the mixing of good science and the more spiritual aspects is truly amazing. Being able to ask questions of scientists, artists, thinkers, doers ... All in the same place is a truly amazing thing. I have to agree that this weekend was probably the greatest "meeting of the minds" I have ever been blessed to be a part of, both @ the conference proper, and at a couple of the afterparties. I got to rub elbows with Neil goldsmith and Rick Doblin and Dan Merkur. And most exciting was work by up and coming grad students. I was very excited by the presentation from Lilly Ross, a masters candidate at Harvard divinity school. "Christians often ask why God does not speak to them, as they believed God did in former days. I had planned in asking Dr Ross about the quote after this question was asked, but thought asking then posting made it too obvious who I am, so I didn't. Out was something about members of the nexus going into the deepest part of the atom and exploring DNA from a first hand perspective. Inn regard to synth pot issue, the response seemed to be that the reason for this has to do with the fact that these substances are light years more powerful than real pot and overload and dull the receptors. His quote was, "This probably isn't that big of a deal as long add you are ok with smoking 20g of K2 every day just to feel normal" Personally, I'm not interested in this and am throwing away the little bit I had left from when you could still buy it around where I live.
