Beautiful... Great way to channel that darker energy. I've painted very little since embarking on the fatherhood journey 18 months ago. 2 paintings, to be exact. Here they are. The first was for a group art show themed "liberation". This was an interesting topic for me as, in becoming a parent, I suddenly had less free time and general liberty than at any other time in my life. At the same time, though, parenthood teaches you what is really important and frees you from being fixated on trivial things. So on some levels it can be extremely liberating. At any rate, the first one is titled "Heart Of Liberation". It's acrylic on canvas. The second one has already been posted elsewhere at the Nexus, so some of you may have seen it. This one is also acrylic, titled "Expansion". It's an attempt at articulating the come-on after smoking DMT. First time I tried rendering it verbatim like this. Took almost 3 months of computer time, but only about 2 weeks to paint. I hope you all enjoy these- not a lot of new paintings coming out of me these days. Perhaps after the kid starts school that will change. Guyomech attached the following image(s): HeartOfLiberation.jpg (3,910kb) downloaded 774 time(s). Expansion.jpg (4,976kb) downloaded 789 time(s).

Those are stunning.
I've always felt that Angkor Palace is one of the most psychedelic pieces of historic architecture out there.

Love the tree! Eerie, infinite, massively complex, poetic... And yeah, faces galore. The human brain evolved to find symmetry amidst chaos, and so this sort of random foliage face effect really tickles the forebrain.
Cyb: you are really conveying hyperspace beautifully and effectively! The infinite corridor effect is great, with the crackling chaos front and center...

Thanks for posting Stevowitz! Those are incredible, I especially love the crazy organic tree mandalas. Very deep and evocative. My 19 month old toddler loves the owl.
This thread is becoming quite epic!

Very nice work stevowitz, the roots pic especially reminds me of aya.. Here's a little animation that came as a result of another collab with Guyomech, not sure if it's finished yet but just thought I'd post it here as I don't have time to work on it anymore with all the other projects going on ... daedaloops attached the following image(s): snake3bigpulse2.gif (1,739kb) downloaded 608 time(s).

That is just about as cool as it can possibly be. Excellent work to both of you. You'll need to walk me through your work flow. I gotta get in on some if this animation bidness.

Nice animation Daeda! In motion it really does have a great trip-visual quality.
My involvement in this was pretty minimal, so we should really be giving Daedaloops credit for this. We started with a simple drawing by Daeda, then a more complicated drawing by me, then a ridiculously complicated drawing by Daeda... Then we took turns meticulously tracing out all the thousands of polygons using the path tool... And I put two nights into a photoshopped cloud background... And then we decided to scrap the whole thing and just do it in 3D- so although I did participate in the concept stages, the actual animation we are seeing here is all his work.

Ouch...I'm cramping just reading that.. The piece is the Bomb...reminds me a lot of the animation in 'Enter the Void' Please do not PM tek related questions Reserve the right to change your mind at any given moment.
