Sunnyside is fine. If you are curious about a solvent a good first step is to google the MSDS sheet for it and check the ingredients. Another good idea is to do a quick evap test with it, put some on a piece of glass and let it evaporate. If it leaves a residue it's bad, if not it's good.

Pickling lime (calcium hydroxide) is not very soluble in water, or not soluble at all in water... I'm not sure. I don't know how well it will work with lazyman tek, but I have heard calcium hydroxide is better with dry teks and sodium hydroxide is better for wet teks. I'm not 100% about that, a bit of searching on the forum would answer your question better.

Let's see, do you want sodium nitrate and aluminum in your DMT?

No. Sodium chloride is salt which is fine, you need to use something that is 100% lye if your wantin to use lye.

Calcium hydroxide is only slightly soluble in water. Really only works for dry teks.

I recently found out the hard way that pickling lime thing is a rather giant pain in the arse.

The roebic stuff rocks..
And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not percieve the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "brother let me remove the speck from your eye", when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?-Yeshua ben Yoseph

So some one found some 100% lye in a hardware store but the barcodes on the back of ALL the bottle were blacked out by a sharpe. Why would that be? Seems like a big red flag.

In what sense? Why do you care about the barcode?

My guess is that it is something to do with pricing. Like they are not selling it for the price that is brought up by the barcode, so they've blacked it out. Don't really know though. Are the ingredients listed? Does it have a brand name, google it's MSDS. Chances are very high that if it is labelled as pure sodium hydroxide then that is what it will be.

Just the other day I found a place selling 8lbs of food-grade lye for like $12 plus shipping. If you're interested let me know and I'll dig up the link. I think I'd be sketchy about using drain cleaner. Surprised

when one is following this tek and using only 100g mhrb, would one just divide the rest of the messurments by 1/4?

example:
100g mhrb
500 ml of water
50g NaOH
65 ml of naptha

glass messuring cup and stinless steel bowl, okay?

seems like one would add naptha then mix then pull of top layer of naptha to evaportate and repeat up to 5 times. Is this correct?

could one get up to a gram of spice with 100 mhrb?
