Just wanted to share one of the most pleasurable experiences. The beach and Gulf of Mexico are just a short walk down a trail through the dunes from my back door. When I am re entering from a journey I like to walk through the dunes. There are many wonderful plants and animals there I truly know welcome me. It gives me a feeling of peace and beauty I cannot put into words. The sights sounds and smells are all intertwined in my re emerging human existence. After about 75 yards the Gulf and sky come into view. I drink it in. The feel of the breeze and sun touching me. I then joyously immerse myself into my Mother Ocean. I cannot put the feeling in words. I can only recommend you try it.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I'm with you Alpha230. Smile It sounds totally Beleza! Beautiful Bliss

Whether I'm in an altered state or not, Nature and the ocean, Iemanja, always set me right, bring me back together. The wind, the waves wash over me, taking away my disconnect, the fragmentation that I feel oh too strongly in the modern western lifestyle.

Is it our lifestyle or our way of thinking? Why does it seem so much easier to just take the time to enjoy nature the further south we go?

I cannot wait to get back to Bahia, to the sand, the warmth of the ocean, the mystical way the sun illuminates the forest at just that perfect time of day (4:30pm)... the depth and breadth of the starfields... saudades, longing... *sigh*

I've never seen the Ocean... Not like THIS one....

No direction but to follow what you know,
No direction but a faith in her decision,
No direction but to never fight her flow,
No direction but to trust the final destination.

I have a friend from Belize. She told me once I looked very troubled. She was correct. She offered a suggestion to help me heal. She asked me my favorite color. I told her it is blue. She explained to me that I am a water person. The Earth's waters are my Mother. She suggested I dress in white clothing. Bring a towel to the beach. Respectfully enter the water (which she referred to as my Mother). I was to toss popcorn in the water to feed her. Toss honey in because it is "sweet, sweet, sweet" and to toss in some change because her wisdom is not free. Then go sit and meditate on my towel. Let my thoughts and words just flow. I was going to become emotional and cleansed. I thought this was absurd.

Well, it was far from absurd. I broke into a very emotional state. My pain flowed from me. I found direction. I am thankful for this lovely persons direction. My mind is open. I do not make assumptions in my our universal quest for peace and love. There were no substances involved in this experience. Just Earth, Sun, Wind and Water. I shre this with the Nexus because it is so healing and I know I should.

Be kind and happy!

That sounds similar to new year's offerings to Iemanja (Goddess of the Sea) in Brasil- at midnight, white clothes, flowers, blessings... leaping waves... your description reminded me of that, of my offering, my wishes... Things begin to change from there.
