stalepixel wrote:im ok with incorporating the overlay into my work, any chance you could list the names of the patterns? Most of them are here: http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Tessellation.html..plus the Penrose tiling and the flower of life. edit: Holy crap man those are really cool ideas! And since your link is Mystery, I personally like the rose too since it implies a sense of mystery.. Could it somehow be more horizontal to fit the ratio? I also like the second to last where there's an imprisoned gem, it's like "that things dangerous.."

I stuck up a piece of Madness here: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...osts&t=35902&p=2But I'm gonna start over with a simpler design.. Really liking the Cathedral... Wouldn't it be great if we could find a coder who could write a script to have all the petals cycling the full spectrum of colours....? That would mean digitizing the final design from pen/ink into Illustrator or something...might get a bit complex.... Very very cool cyb, I think that is totally the right direction for the FAQ.. cyb wrote:Wouldn't it be great if we could find a coder who could write a script to have all the petals cycling the full spectrum of colours....? That's actually what I do with every drawing I wanna finalize, convert them to vectors in PS and then apply colors and shading. I can also do that color cycling, but if you're talking about the petals in my design, I was thinking instead of color cycling, this time there could be a full animation which IMO would look alot more mystical and inviting, like this.

Great to see this stuff rolling in! Very exciting stage for this project.
I like Daeda's rough layout a lot, and personally don't have anything better to offer. I'd suggest pushing the size of the windows up a bit, make them as big as possible without disrupting the overall balance. The vines are a great unifying element, and will look amazing done up in full double helix Caapi glory, along with foliage etc... Maybe a couple tree frogs thrown in? Major lush jungle vibe with cosmic background... You can't go wrong.
As far as the background patterns go, one way of making them work consistently throughout would be to get the basic layout sized and nailed down, add the patterns into the windows as colorless overlays, then post the overlays individually so that the participating artists will have them to work with... That way we could get the density, thickness etc consistent across the board. If we each build our patterns from scratch we'll have a lot of different finishes.
I'm in the basement of my brother in law's place till Tuesday, no scanner or computer and a painfully slow connection (click a link, go make a sandwich, come back to see if it's loaded yet). So I may be limited in my ability to participate till I get back. But some sketches are happening in the meantime. Soon as I get back my next step will be to print and retrace Daeda's drawing, tweak it a bit, unless that's already happened by then.

I think only a hard line Indian devotee would object to such a fine image...'Pack his Trunk with 30mg and blast that Bhagavata...' Please do not PM tek related questions Reserve the right to change your mind at any given moment.

I think it's an awesome idea. Convert a melodic element into a rhythmic element...

I also like hyperspacew cathedral and the scetch below for its depth! Also cool glyphs...they might be suitable as a piece of the overaching background.

I think it's an awesome idea. The Bhagavad Gita had a profound impact on my life, as did the GVG, so I say go for it! All posts are completely fictional and for educational purposes only

Also, for real I have zero competence with digital, I'll be painting once the design is final. I'm gonna have a problem adding in those digital effects or cutting it to fit behind vines or whatever. That's no problem Orion....your final can be posted (Hi Rez digi picture) and can be warped/edited in Pshop to fit by one of us... @Guyomech, cool I was hoping you'd tweak the design abit but didn't wanna push it on to you since you're probably busy.. But I'm currently making a lushier version with those Caapi vines and frogs , so don't tweak the old one as it's redundant now, will post the new one soon.. @Orion, as I understood it the light source wouldn't "leak into" the artworks, it would just be on the surface. But even if it would leak, you wouldn't have to worry about it since your beings apparently have their own light source. And as for all the digital effects like vines or overlays or text you guys definitely don't have to worry about those, that will all be added when the whole thing is put together. I'm very likely going to model the whole thing in 3d to have authentic lighting and depth effects.

I've been lately getting reacquainted with 3dsmax because of another collab, but there's alot things I'm still rusty with, so I would appreciate any help as you're way more experienced in that. Will see how it goes and let you know..
