Hello everyone!

I thought I'd go ahead and get everyone together and organize an official list of who you consider the most influential people to your life/work and possibly links/videos/books to reccomend to accompany that. My idea is if we all come together and get this organized and updated most importantly may our journeys be that much more merry.

For me personally theres a select few that stand out to me, but should not be limited to such.

To name a few in no specific order:

Timothy leary
Terence/Dennis mckenna
Albert Hofmann

I find Timothy learys 8 circuit model of consciousness extremely interesting. If you guys are familiar with leary or familiar with it only vaguely I highly recommend you read it. To get you started the links can be found here: http://www.erowid.org/cu..._timothy_8-circuit.shtml
http://en.wikipedia.org/...t_model_of_consciousness
http://deoxy.org/8circuit.htm

Terence mckenna and dennis mckenna are a little bit different, they have a different vibe and story to tell, nontheless truly beautiful. I sincerely think if anyone deserves to be given credit first it shoudl be these guys but thats my own personal opinion Smile

A select few of my favorite mckenna links/reccomdations would have to be to read the Archaic Revival, Invisible landscape and Food of the gods to start. The tree of knowledge is very impressive. Alien dreamtime has also fascinated me.

Here is the Food of the gods pdf: http://www.integralbook....nce-Food-Of-The-Gods.pdf

Next is Alien dreamtime: http://video.google.com/...cid=-2395498051948678069

Heres the Invisible Landscape: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfpKSdBMzrY

Last but not least is Albert Hofmann

Lsd to me, seems to be the only time the analog is better than the plant material which is a definite rarity. Ever since my first time tripping on it, it has just changed my life drastically for the better. I've come to more realizations etc. You have to truly give it up for the potion!

I like Joe Rogan. If it wasn't for him I would not know what DMT is. I love watching his podcasts, especially when he has Duncan Trussell on. Check them out: http://vimeo.com/joeroganexperience

Also, Everyone should watch his podcast featuring Graham Hancock. It was the first podcast of his that I watched and it was probably the inception of my new way of thinking.

Yeah Joe Rogan has definately been influential to me as well. You should check out where he talks about the sensory depravation tanks. Its an isolated tank with the water inside warmed to exactly your body temperature and with a certain salt-buoyancy to make your body "float" in it. People have made reports of smoking dmt and then entering such a device to meditate, and others go in there sober and begin to meditate and after long enough, chakras might be enabled and possibly kundalini activation. The brain is rumoured to produce more endogenous dmt during these states of meditation/consciousness.

terrence mckenna.

I knew about DMT long before joe rogan hosted "the man show".

rumored is the correct term. if at all, the gene expression for INMT lies dormant, but is actively expressed in the lungs, adrenals, muscles, and heart...your other "chakras".
there's low (if any) expression in the brain. the pineal gland is known to produce pinoline, which may protect endogenous DMT from being metabolized by MAO.

Thats rather fascinating, thank you for clearing that up for me. I wanted to make sure, as one can hear things incorrectly.

all scientists have to go by is evidence; it could very well be, as I mentioned, that at the genetic level, DMT production in the brain is largely dormant, although peripheral tissues readily produce it in very low concentration.

but given the right stress conditions, those genes may just be activated...and this is what dr. strassman also proposes.

pinoline is the endogenous MAOI that never gets mentioned by him, or pretty much anyone else for that matter, and it's a whole other mystery.

it is a hunch, call it a personal 'belief' (a hypothesis) of mine that pinoline is the
real molecular player from the pineal gland, and it's produced during meditative states, and as a metabolite of melatonin, in the absence of light.

I don't believe Joe Rogan is a good poster child for dmt.

If you believe Joe to be some form of conduit or spokesperson for such, you should look deeper...........

Go back to fear factor Joe.............

IMO

Joe is more like one of Jerry's kids........
I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention by using totally fictitious verbiage...........

The above refers to the fictitious 'I'

I wouldnt say hes the best spokesperson by a long shot, but he did have a small part to play (his role in the Spirit molecule etc). His podcasts arent half bad either. I may not be the biggest fan of him, but i certainly wont bash anyone for liking him. To each their own Smile

Joe tells everything as he sees it and from what I can tell, doesn't try to bullshit anybody. He isn't scared to say what he believes and I respect that. He is a poster child for DMT, whether anyone likes him or not. If it wasn't for him many people wouldn't have ever heard of DMT, including me. Some people don't like his sense of humor and that's fine. He might come off as a douche to some people at first but if you actually watch more of his videos he does seem genuine and he is very thought provoking... just my thoughts on him.

Just curious, The Observer, who do you think is a better role model? You said I should look deeper. Where should I look?
