So a quick look at http://www.treatment4add...drugs/hallucinogens/dmt/

There is a section that states:

treatment4addiction.com wrote:

Dangers of DMT

Using DMT can be a serious health risk that results in death. Users can go into a state of unconsciousness or a drug induced coma. Often, unconscious users will begin to vomit resulting in choking and death.

Often? how often? This is laughable. So I guess its saying that you die by suffocating on your own vomit. Has this even happened ever? And then DMT WITHDRAWAL!

treament4addiction.com wrote:
DMT withdrawal is not a physical phenomenon and exists entirely psychologically, wherein the user becomes confused or angered by actual reality because of prolonged exposure to DMT hallucinations and seeks the drug for the purpose of repeated escape.

It goes on to say that addicts increase dosage and also experiment with other drugs. i wish there was a FLAG button for websites like this. I cant find anymore, abovetheinfluence hasnt added DMT to their list nor has theantidrug.com

And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not percieve the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "brother let me remove the speck from your eye", when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?-Yeshua ben Yoseph

at least they got it right with mushrooms

Addiction Information

The prohibition of psilocybin mushrooms is under criticism because psilocybin mushrooms are considered soft drugs with a low potential for abuse, very low toxicity, and no risk of addiction. Psilocybin mushrooms are non-addictive and rarely abused. They do create short-term increases in tolerance of users, thus making it difficult to abuse them because the more often they are taken within a short period of time, the weaker the resultant effects are. Although an individual uneducated in the proper identification of hallucinogenic mushrooms may pick poisonous (sometimes lethal) wild mushrooms mistaken for psilocybin mushrooms, true psilocybin mushrooms are non-toxic, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, a branch of the Center For Disease Control, rated psilocybin less toxic than aspirin. Even with the potential risks of panic attacks, anxiety, depression and paranoid delusions, magic mushrooms were rated as one of the safest of all recreational substances by experts in a study by the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs. Leading researchers have said that psilocybin is "remarkably non-toxic to the body's organ systems", explaining that any risks are indirect.

They are pretty spot on about LSD and arent using scare tactics to try an make people avoid it, but they seem to be when talking about DMT.

Quote:
DMT
Using this extremely potent substance on a regular basis for extended periods of time has the potential to cause brain damage.

I get two feelings from this site, it seems like they are for the most part not trying to display falsifications, but on the other hand it also seems like more than one person is writing some of the info, some of them sound fairly negative and anti-drug.

Quote:
Marijuana users who have taken an extremely high dose of this drug may experience acute toxic psychosis.

one that I found HILARIOUS is the list of symptoms associated with oxycodone

Quote:

Symptoms of Oxycodone Addiction Include:

Dizziness
Weakness
Apathy
Confusion
Small pupils
Shallow breathing
Nodding off
Seizure
Nausea
Clammy skin
Financial problems

Financial Problems? What part of the brain deals specifically with "finance"? LOL

I think I might know why this is. While DMT has been known for a very long time, recreationally is pretty new. I mean my brother was heavy in the psychedelic scene in the 90's and he never heard of DMT. Hell, I never heard of it until 2009. The fact that it hasn't been in the mainstream of psychedelics for very long there's that fear of the unknown. I think with time, as with LSD and Mushrooms, DMT will no longer have that preconception of negativity that society has on anything it has never known.

Pretty crazy the truth of LSD and Mushrooms is on there and basically leaving the reader to say "Why is this illegal?"

I'm just speaking from my point of view, I have no basis that DMT was not as known as it is today.

Well you are correct in what you say. my only thing is how can someone be taken seriously if they are going around spreading information that may or may not be true? I myself have never heard of anyone choking to death on their own vomit after dosing DMT.

Doesn't mean it hasnt happened, but it definitely isnt common enough to say "Often, unconscious users will begin to vomit resulting in choking and death."

This has been up for years: http://www.drugfree.org/drug-guide/dmt

It's not terrible though. I think this might even be how I learned about DMT.

The site is pretty short and too the point. Interesting how many anti-drug sites there are. Maybe there needs to be more Pro-Drug sites. Designed in the same manner as those.
