but that one doesnt say mg, it says .o1 g, how would i measure out a 50 mg dose? though i also probably need one that goes to 100 g for extraction (so i know how much mhrb i have), but i could buy 2 different scales. this is all theoretical though bc i dont have enough money yet.

0.001g it says. That is 1mg. And yeah you'll probably need two sets of scales. Mg scales typically only go to 20-25g. A set of 0.1-200g or thereabouts is ideal for weighing MHRB and NaOH.

Thanks Gary heh, I actually have three for some reason. The one I posted is indeed a mg scale, besides the fact that it says it, I use it frequently Pleased. Its a good scale, but It usually needs a calibration for every use, so don't lose the 2 10g weights that come with it. I have a hook scale for weighing Cacti cuts, a .1 to 500 for weighing MHRB, Lime, and Cacti powder, and the mg scale I posted for end results.

So what reading will be 50 mg? .050 g?

what chemical is NaOH? I was planning on using the dry tek that uses lime instead of lye.

Sodium hydroxide.

Can anyone else vouch for that scale besides avidgardener? Not that I don't trust him, but you know how some people have good luck with these things and others don't. I really need a scale soon but I don't want to spend hundreds on a mg scale.

Horizon Pro is the same scale as the AWG which kind of "the official Nexus scale" since so many people have it.

Calibration is making sure the scale is weighing accurately. With this one, you put a 10 gram weight when it tells you to, then another 20 gram weight on top of it. It only takes a few seconds, like I said, I do it every time I use the scale.

I dont know what the exact differences, but i would guess they are identical. Same thing with Video cards, someone takes an Nvidia card changes a few small things and calls it Xtasy brand. Its the basically the same.

i have the Gemini-20, by AWS (american weigh scales) and it looks identical to the horizon pro.

I can vouch for the AWS gemini 20. It's great for the $$. Just don't lose the calibration weights; dealing with mg's requires precision.

Only difference is the stand-by weight is sticking out on the first one pictured. I have that the Horizon Pro, and it can get in the way sometimes.

Strange, my gemini-20 has the rubber grommet and the weight sticks out like the horizon picture rather then the picture of the gemini wheres its almost flush.

The one where you can see the calibration weight sticking up is identical to mine and I can certainly vouch for it. It was cheap as hell and has lasted very well and appears to be very accurate. On a bored day I used it to work out the average weight of a rice crispy. If I remember right it was 24mg. I guess a good follow up experiment would be to take a handful of rice crispies, weigh them all and then divide the weight by 24... then count all the rice crispies and see how accurate my average was. I think I'll wait until I am *really* bored before doing that.

You can also use your scale to count money. US paper currency weighs close to a gram (give or take some milli's)

Throw 10 bucks worth of $1's should be close to 10 grams.

Saw a thread with someone asking about eyeballing doses. Found this deal on digital scales that weigh out to the hundreths for $8.99 with free shipping! Thought i'd share incase anyone needs cheap scales that will help with measuring DMT.

Obviously milligram scales would be ideal, but at this price i can settle for knowing that .02 is simply 20 mgs!! Add a zero and you got it! I use scales like this and they work great for everything i need.

I find that coin collecting shops/sites are a great place to buy scales for a decent price. You try to buy the same at a headshop and spend upwards of $100!!!

I think you should keep a couple things in mind when using a scale that only reads x.xx

To start, .02 does NOT mean its 20mg. Assuming no +/- tolerances, .02 would probably mean .016-.024 mg.

Seeing as there is a +/- tolerance involved with scales, you are probably at best ending up with a range of approx 10 to 30mg.

You get what you pay for.

I highly recommend that anyone looking for a mg scale, actually start with a scale that claims to be a mg scale, ie. should be accurate to 3 decimal places to the right of the decimal point (x.xxx).

There would also be a tolerance, especially at such small amounts, but would for sure get you closer than using a scale that only reads in hundreths........

Also, most inexpensive scales will not be extremely accurate at such small weights...........

Just saying...............
I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention by using totally fictitious verbiage...........

The above refers to the fictitious 'I'
