if you have some horribly bitter alkaloid rich drink that makes you feel sick heres a few things that help,
ginger tea or ginger ale will reduce nausea, this is well known
if flavor is the issue, simply go to the local herb store and buy clove essential oil. put 2 drops on your tongue and swish around, you wont be able to taste, or feel your mouth. if you do not have clove oil, you can chew about ten cloves then spit them out for similar numbing effects

1st. Reduce to the smallest amount possible. I'd rather down a few tablespoons of syrup vs 1 cup of bitter tea.

2nd. Grapefruit juice as a chaser or mixer.

3rd. Hold your nose.

I've spent lots of time and effort trying to get around the awsome bitterness of these compounds. But here's some insight....drinking horrible bitter drinks makes you have intention and focus. Starting this way leads to deeper experiences. IMO

It is medicine. That is what makes me accept the bitterness and go through it.

Well on my journey into the plant kingdom, I've experienced that, over time, one just gets used to tasting horrible tastes when one has had too. We all have to go through it, its just taste folks. Plus how strong do you feel after getting it down? Multiple times? Just try drinking cactus or some bitter tinctures, you'll be used to nasty stuff in no time.

As far as the stomach un-easiness, Id recommend peppermint tea, its always worked for I Wink

I doubt this since mescaline is absorbed pretty slowly and takes quite a while to slowly come up. In fact it's probably one of the easiest on the nervous system as far as coming up goes. IMHO.
If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

Never heard anything about it being bad to ingest it too quickly. Before I got my hands on a dehydrator and coffee grinder, I would just reduce my doses down to a shot glass/50ml. It sounds like it would be easier to shoot, but if your using a good bit of cactus it can be very thick and won't get out of the shot glass quickly. Had a friend who started his shot glass and ended up throwing it back up before he could get the whole thing to even get into his mouth. He could hardly even handle his Syrian rue tea, or Calea tea another time, so he is pretty sensitive. The holding your nose thing helps tremendously. I've also heard about the grapefruit chaser. One thing I have not heard of is the clove essential oil. I'll have to give that one a shot.

I also agree with jestKiDDiN. After drinking bitter Calea tea for quite some time, it doesn't phase me anymore. I felt like I was starting to get there with Cactus tea but meh, I prefer the powder method now which is very easy to get as little bitterness as possible. Drop it on the back of your tongue and have a glass of chaser prepared to wash it down quickly. I usually just use water but I'm sure others will prefer something with its own flavor.

In reference to the ginger, I've even heard of some people putting ginger in gel caps and taking it with their powder caps or with any other method, its a tried and true nausea combatant.

Peace and love,
AG
