WTF indeed.
He should be acquitted, even according to the ridiculous status of ayahuasca in France. In the
source link in the Ayahuasca Forums (a website of information on sects, wtf again), translating from spanish:
Quote:The reason for the trial starts with the report of the family of a woman who participated in the seminars of this association (> L'Echelle, in France - relevant bit here) ; in the context of a divorce process, her ex-husband reported for the use of ayahuasca in (Mabit's) seminars, and for the fact she was encouraged to participate in the program of the Takiwasi center in Perú (...)
It sounds like a woman breaking up with her husband (maybe related to aya insights?) and the husband throwing a tantrum. Either that, or a sting operation.
Let's hope for the best. Right now precedents of another trial in Chile is good, and new research reports should prove invaluable. But if Mabit used ayahuasca in France, and the judge is not reasonable and sticks to the letter of the law...
