I think maybe that’s a bit harsh considering very few details about the circumstances have come out yet.

A member in chat mentioned that he knew the person in question. Apparently he was a bark vendor and, as these articles would have it appear, he was also engaged in extracting. I would have thought it was self-evident why this is a no-no, but just to state it aloud...If you are selling plant material which contains scheduled substances, it is wise to avoid engaging in further criminal activities as there is a high chance you are being monitored to some degree. Perhaps it is possible to set up firewalls between a location where you could extract and the "you" who is running an ethnobotanical business, but no matter how tight it is, you are treading in dangerous waters.

Extracting prevents any plausible deniability in the event you are prosecuted for your "legitimate" business. It also clearly endangers the supply of mhrb or other source materials as it gives a clear link between the supply/distribution of a given plant material and the use of that material for "dangerous" drug extractions. This increases both the visibility of our methods for extracting/obtaining source material as a community, as well as the publicity around dmt and these source materials.

The articles are typical news propaganda...but I think there is a clear lesson to be learned here if he was in fact a mhrb vendor. If you're going to operate a business in legal "gray areas", keep your nose clean of any criminal undertakings.

Says they weren't expecting to find the lab, yet early indications noted it had been operational 6 months. Sounds like they had it out for this guy. Sad, when people who aren't harming anyone get caught in the cross fire of this war on drugs.

Every time I hear about busts like these, and see how little the cops know, I cant help but think Allegory of the cave.

if what you have is too much for any single person to immediately use 1/100th of thier stash i feel like its probably too much to have, i know 1/100th is arbitrary but i think there needs to be a definite ordinance set so people making for sales arent bunched in with your spiritual at home chemist whos just trying to unmuddle his ego.


id be all for manufacturing for sale to remain strictly prohibitted, im also for personal amounts being legitimate (provided there is no evidence of substances sale or donation)


people drink alcohol publicly, how can any entheogen be worse?

well, alcohol is traditional. ingrained into society since the founders brought it from Europe. entheogen use (while technically a native practice) is viewed as foreign, and dangerous (misunderstood, actually).
