I'm a little wary of breaking rules, but let me put it this way, when the UK Speaker's wife, Sally Bercow asked "Am I the only one now slightly tempted to try mexxy before it becomes illegal?"-- No You Were Not the only one, Sally! - fortunately I live in the US, so I can hope that methoxetamine stays in the grey areas of law in the US a little while longer.
This, along with the research of some psychedelic stimulants, sent me searching for new, more meaningful experiences, something I hadn't done since LSD in college over 20 years ago.
I've also struggled with depression for most of my life, and have been prescribed about 7 different antidepressants, each for at least several months, often for many years, and a few other psyche meds as well. I've done much research on these meds, I wasn't just passively accepting scripts. And I have also used various Traditional Chinese therapies, mostly accupuncture.
I have a pretty good idea what Modern Day allopathic medicine has to offer to people with a variety of psychological disorders- and it is insufficient (although not useless).
Now I am interested in researching ayahuasca, anahuascas and pharmahuascas.
Oh, I have also been taking paralegal courses and know a little bit about US law. This area is a very interesting part of US and UK law, I hope I can contribute something to the forum on the subject.
I also love science. I lean towards favoring verifiable evidence-based facts. Maybe that will change in the future, who knows?
Anyways, that's how I got here, on this forum.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Welcome to the Nexus!

I hope your return to psychedelics is beneficial to you and your path.

Please be aware of the contraindications between ayahuasca/MAOIs and antidepressants. Are you still taking them?

A scientific critical attitude is something we value a lot here. There seem to be a lot of people which forget they can be deluded by their perceptions and take trips (and theories) at face-value without questioning things and thinking critically.

See you around!

Welcome FractalElf! It's perfectly understandable about breaking the rules. But I'm sure you are aware that it's the rule-breakers who usually come up with the important new innovations. There are times and cases where it's simply worth it.

I have heard of psilocybin being used successfully for depression... I'm sure that oral DMT could have even more powerful effects in this vein. Naturally, depression has a chemical component... But I could imagine how a big enough shift in perspective/outlook could result in positive chemical changes too. Our minds and the physical bodies that serve as their substrates are inseparable, two sides of the same coin.

I wish you the best of luck with your travels... And look forward to hearing any interesting developments in the law that may effect us.

Sorry endlessness, I assumed no one would answer this post! I am no longer taking SSRIs or SNRIs- the last one was Cymbalta (duloxetine HCl) I am at the moment still taking bupropion, and am still researching possible interactions with the MAO inhibitors. Bupropion is a really weird drug that's both a substituted cathinone and substituted amphetamine. It is not a very stimulating stimulant to say the least, although a minority of people find it to be recreational when insuffalted (unsafe), most do not and I think I may fall into the latter category. Not worth messing with because of lowered seizure threshold.
I've put my toe into the spicy waters, so to speak, to good effect. I will probably taper off bupropion before trying a full spice experience with MAOIs. It is going to take me a while to figure out how and what kind of tek to use. I had a fear of labs in my college days, and the teks still intimidate me. I've tried to follow a bit of the THH discussions. Frankly I'd be more comfortable with just taking moclobmide.
If I could, I'd take one of those trendy ayahuasca retreats, but I would have to save up for years in order to get to one, it seems. And I am wary of sketchy providers. It is extremly difficult to sue someone in a central or south american country! I also wonder about Iboga, but that's another story.
