As best you can, define tripping:

The intense realization that all things impossible are very possible.
Everything you fundamentally know, from learning or instinct, is wrong.
The change in every senses perception so greatly that our conciousness shifts.

Any more ways to define it?

The reasons all have run away but the feeling never did
It's not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live
Cause what is simple in the moonlight, by the morning never is

Set and setting plays such a huge role in the experience, and every time set and setting is going to be different. The experience is more complex than "all things are possible." It truly is impossible and redundant trying to explain, because there's no ultimate experience with these class of chemicals, everyone's take on them is different.

IMO.
β€œThe most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Tripping is Supernatural, a place for realisations, a place to hopefully let your guard down and FEEL Not so Strange!
Its evidence.

thank you, I dont quite understand how its menacing, I see care bears riding rainbows just as menacing, you could say. I hate to say but I find the whole definitions behind good and evil non-existent, it all almost starts to blend together indistinguishable from each other, and the whole idea behind duality. As long as you have empathy and a strong sense of ethics and moral code.
Its in your head

There definitely are "light" elements and "dark" elements, both in altered states and in everyday life. Labeling them as "good" and "evil" is, I agree, a distortion. But you cannot deny that there is a light to dark spectrum to reality. All of it is necessary of course, and in a very nonjudgmental way you could think of it as the light and dark paints in the great artistic composition that is reality.

Scudge- all of your avatars have been slightly menacing. But I've liked them all, and of course noticed them readily. Art with an edge grabs the viewer, shakes them up in a good way.

As far as responding to the OP: I would say that tripping is an opportunity to meet your higher, larger, more complete self.

Tripping to me is like an escape from reality and a portal to a whole new world and reality. The setting does play a major role for sure! Your trip feeds off your surroundings before your body processes it.

Isn't it weird how your pupils dilate so much? As if you are actually "seeing" for the first time.

perhaps an exceedingly overused quote, but damn, it sure rings true for me:

"If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite." - william blake

that's how i've felt in my best trips - infinite.

cheers!
