okay so i was playing diablo 3 when a discussion of lsd came up. some one messaged me telling me he knew how to make it and is was easy, now im a gullible guy but i know that it isnt easy to make but the some of the things he said made me curious. the "recipe" he gave me was:
take a whole loaf of white bread, spread it out in an ice chest then spray water on it and close the lid and do not open for two weeks. then extract the mold into a jar and place it into a pot of boiling water rig up a fish tube to the top of the lid so the "lsd" can evaporate out of the top into a separate container.

now with that said he told me he had gone to jail a few years back for some kid drinking a shot glass of the substance and went is now retarded. is there some sort of truth to this or is this a load of bull? i have no intention of doing this i was just curious if this actually worked, if anything made something that can be considered a tripping substance.

No, it's an urban myth. LSD requires synthesis, using watched chemicals and potentially dangerous laboratory procedures. We do not discuss such processes here as explained in the attitude:
Quote:
No synthesis talk that uses dangerous/watched chemicals and procedures
Discussion of simple safe non-commercial synthesis not requiring watched chemicals are tolerated (example: the reduction of DMT N-oxide to DMT with zinc, or the supposed LSA-to-LSH conversion).

I'd recommend looking up LSD in TiHKAL to understand how difficult an LSD synthesis is.
“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

Total BS. You came to the right place to check this method though. One of the many great reasons for the Nexus is to debunk such bogus information, and champion true information through experience and research.

I would leave this task to someone else. Growing mushrooms is a much better option and it's much easier, as long as you take a few precautions with regards to cleanliness and sterilisation. Everything you need to know, you can learn at the Entheogenic University.

LOL here is one my brother tried when he was younger

take one packet of juicy fruit chewing gum, and insert them into an orange, into the middle.

Leave them for three months; either in the fridge or freezer? cannot remember which one.

I think it was fridge because the orange turned all blue with mould LOL

So him and my mate ate these gum pallets ahahah Smile

dumb asses, i think it was supposed to be like an LSA trip or something

lucky they did not get ill

The point has already been made, but I feel like jumping on the bandwagon regardless. The LSD synth is tough, and tough for many reasons. Let's forget the actual synth for a minute, and just consider the precursers; they are incredibly hard to come by. They are among the most watched chemicals in the world. They long since stopped using Lysergic acid due to the difficulty in obtaining it. Even ET & diethylamine were tough to come by due to how close they were watched. Then the Silo crew rolled on the major sources in 2000, making it even more difficult.

When it comes to LSD synth threads, my advise is always the same; leave it to the professionals.

As far as these "easy LSD synth" recipes that are tossed all over the Internet go; they are good way to get yourself seriously ill, possibly fatally so. They don't result in LSD, they do result in a variety of molds. Mold is dangerous. Stay far away from those "recipes".

From the article that Rexa posted:

Quote:
Wintermute gave an update on the project last week at the Synthetic Biology 5 conference at Stanford University. As yet he is not making any lysergic acid, but he has dropped two of the six required biological pathways into baker's yeast, which merrily churns out intermediate compounds. At a rough estimate, he expects a litre of modified yeast in broth will produce a gram of lysergic acid. Once made inside the yeast, the drug should pass through the cell walls, where it can be separated out and purified.

^^^^This is exciting stuff. I wonder if a similar thing can be done for DMT. If this is true LSD could be making a major comeback in the future..Smile
And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not percieve the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "brother let me remove the speck from your eye", when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?-Yeshua ben Yoseph

The Tikhal is unnecessarily complicated, just look at its extraction explanation for DMT:

http://www.erowid.org/li...ne/tihkal/tihkal06.shtml

One would have to have a PhD in chemistry in order to do this!

I'm sure there are simpler methods.
Meditate before you venture, take it seriously, use it as medicinal—it is good psychotherapy if needed. Realize that you, the Earth, others, and the Universe are all one and the same process. Then take that knowledge back to become, as you already are, one with nature. Eternity in every moment. Divinity in every particle. All is one organism.

Tikhal describes synthesizing DMT not extracting. And yes, for synthesizing DMT (and LSD) you do need to know very well what you are doing and you require dangerous and watched chemicals.

Hence why DMT synthesis talk is not allowed on the DMT-Nexus; it is too dangerous, law wise and personal safety wise.

Kind regards,

Maybe he was thinking he could cultivate the Ergot fungus, which still couldn't happen on a slice of bread. ( It grows on wheat seed under specific atmospheric conditions. Still it wouldn't be LSD. Though ergot alkaloids from the Claviceps purpurea fungus can induce psychotropic effects.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergot

But don't try looking for that either, it's toxic.

why would one need a Ph.D.? would one go present one's studies at a conference?

I'm sort of hung up on this part of your post. For sure this person in question told you a load of bull regarding the synthesis of LSD, but this is an experiential statement and I cannot say if it is true or not. Is it? Seems like a strange thing to lie about. Because if this is true, it's rather disturbing.

Pennicillum/Aspergillis spp. are common airborne molds that will grow on bread.
those are the kind you will most likely encounter if you let a piece of bread sit out
