I had a fairly strong experience using marijuana this weekend. This same thing has happened to me many times before. I am pretty sure as far back as before any drug use, but I know for sure I've experienced this same thing during my major pothead days but it has been awhile. So long ago that I had forgotten about it.

After sitting around the campfire baked out of my mind I decided to retire to my tent. I was way more stoned than I had intended to get. I stumbled to the tent, fumbled with the zipper, laid down inside my sleeping bag and that's when it started to happen. With my eyes closed I envisioned a triangle. I think it was blue and red. It was directly in the middle of my sight and was traveling upwards on a black pathway lined with a digital looking blue light on both sides. Everyonce in awhile the pathway would change direction and start heading down. I don't know why but my intent is automatically set to keep it in an upwards direction.

I fight the visions and continue to try and keep the object in an ascending manner. I can tell that atleast part of this plays into how strong my will power is. Everytime the pathway turns and starts to take the object downwards I quickly fight back to reverse it into an upward direction of travel. As this goes on it becomes ever more difficult control the direction of the object. There was some kind of backdrop to all this that I believe was constantly changing and shifting but I can't quite remember because my main focus was on controlling the direction of this object. Soon it became almost impossible to gain more upward direction than downward, I was losing just as much distance as I was making.

During this I don't have a whole lot, if any, pre thought as to any decision making, it was more instantaneous thought. I suddenly willed the triangle to turn into a fast car of some kind. It was very video game like in appearance. Reminiscent of the game cruisin USA. The path turned into a road and took on the same mannerisms when switching directions as in that game. Everytime the path would change into a downward direction I would "floor it" hoping the increase in speed would assist me in keeping it going up.

This was fairly successful and I felt as if I were stronger than whatever force was at play here. Around this time I also realized that I remember having this kind of experience before. Suddenly it became very difficult to keep up my victory. I could kind of keep the pathway/road on rolling type hills so I didnt lose more distance than I was gaining.

Suddenly my vision shifted. Now I was viewing the inside of a futuristic octagon shaped elevator that reminded me of the movie tron. I increased the speed at which it was traveling significantly. I was now shooting straight up some kind of shaft in the elevator at fairly high speeds. I had a lot more conscious thought at this time and started contemplating on what I was experiencing. I wondered to myself what does this mean and where does this lead to? Is their an end? Where does this lead if I were successful in keeping this up?

I decided to envision the end. Wherever this path leads to. This part is very hazy. I kind of remember seeing a cube or some kind of shape. This object looked a lot like aerogel. The same kind of bluish hue, kind of foggy looking and almost see thru. It was rotating. There was some sort of branching looking stuff coming from behind it and I felt the presence of two maybe more entities that gave off the same feeling or aura of the entities I've encountered from DMT.

I tried to figure out if I was actually seeing the end or just manifesting this vision of what I think it might be. Not sure. After this ended I realized I was way more successful in keeping an ascending direction for much longer than all the other times I've experienced this.

Have you had a similiar experience?

Any thoughts?

What say you?

Would you consider closed eye experiences with DMT a daydream?

It isn't out of the realm of possibility. But I would say its more likely that this was indeed a drug induced hallucination that I was able to interact with. Much in the same way that you interact with a DMT experience. Beings that I believe I might have had these same experiences before having ever used drugs makes it likely to be a strange abstract daydream, but I day dream constantly on a daily basis, and this definitely didn't feel like a daydream and it was way more vivid. But I really cannot say that it wasn't. Although the sensation that my mind wasn't the only thing that was part of the experience, that there was something "extra" leads me to believe otherwise.

Interesting, I never really pondered what the differences between a daydream and a hallucination is. Aside from a drug induced hallucination I guess it's possible that day dreams could be considered to be a self induced hallucination of some sort. Thank you for your reply.

I'm not sure if it is what you saw but your post reminded me of phosphenes.
The website www.religiousvisionsoflight.com has some low-res demonstrations of the visual phosphenes.

From memory here, your description of ascending then descending reminds me of the first or second videos(edit: maybe 3rd video) on that website. The one that fades somewhat then the dot pokes up.
I can't explain the race car aspect unless you were slipping into a dream.
Your final description of fog and branches reminds me of what I think is video 4, there is a fog and lightning strike type visuals in the background.

Could also be one of those times where u are still awake but starting to dream, I've had a number of those. Or perhaps just some nice psychedelic MJ vibes.
The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

I've had a few vey intense transcendental experiences from MJ- usually hash or in one case leftover resins... But these have always tended to be quick white-flash kinds of experiences, huge but quick.

Your experience almost sounds like a visual manifestation of the good attitude/bad attitude game you can sometimes end up playing with yourself when alone and overly stoned... Does that make any sense?

I was definitely fully aware of my environment outside my body. I definitely was not slipping into a dream, after this had happened I laid there for a couple hours trippin out on things that I thought I heard ect. I was wide awake during this experience and at anytime was able to open my eyes.

Also, the visuals were very distinct. I actually saw fully formed objects and designs ect. It was kind of like in between the clarity of DMT visuals and the fogginess of daydreaming. What I saw feels as though I had chosen them, but without any pre-thought. Like instant thought, and visualizing. if that makes sense.

Ya that does make sense, although like i said it feels as if that was only a small part of it. Each time I have had this experience I have always felt like there was something waiting for me if I was able to accomplish reaching the end or top or whatever.

I want to add that I am very sensitive to THC, without a tolerance it hits me very hard and lasts very long. I have had many THC experiences that were pre-psychadelic. I almost feel as if, had I smoked more i would have had a THC breakthrough. There have been many occasions where THC has been extremely mentally psychadelic. I havent had open eye visuals, that I can remember, but my mind has definitely acted much different...

I need to ponder some things.

No... Especially with properly vaporized higher dosages 35mg+.

In regards to marijuana though. I've had acouple smoked experiences with mj that were very intense visually (closed eye; electric type/ blues/greens/whites. VERY different though in regards to the dmt experience....ESPECIALLY higher dosages of dmt...there's not the slightest sliver of comparison.

No they are nothing alike with high doses of DMT. Basically the visuals were pretty on par with a small dose, 10mg, that I did. The feel and visual clarity not the content.
