so we know that hcl and sulphates yield nice final products, but what about fumarates?

i theorize that if one salted with fasw and evaporated thier product they would be left with both mescaline fumarates and excess fumaric acid. since mescaline salts are readily dissolved in rt water i would follow the same idea that dmt fumarate uses as a clean up, minimal water.

slowly (drop wise) add water to your fumarates+fumaric acid until nothing more seems to dissolve, since fumaric acid is a bit more difficult to dissolve in water, let alone minimal water already saturated with something, it seems this method would effectively salvage the mescaline from the majority of the acid contaminates

the dmt clean up calls for 12 ml per g of fumaric dmt + fumaric acid, this method works well and might be a key to cleaning mescaline fumarates aswell...

if anyone has experience salting mesc with fumaric acid and or cleaning up please post some of your thoughts

Citric acid also has the same problem resulting in acid contamination. Your solution is FASI; fumaric acid saturated IPA dropped in the limonene pull. Only mesc-fumarate (and related alkaloids) will crash out; IPA, limonene, excess fumaric acid will be in solution.

because i savor my limited limonene i really dont wanna put ipa in it so i wont need to wash it of excess ipa later, not that its hard but given my situation id like to consider other options.

heres another theory then..

wash the fasw salt with limonene to leave behind mescaline fumarates. remove limo contams with acetone wash (provided mescaline fumarates are insoluable in dry acetone) or dry ipa wash if acetone isnt possible (if fumarates are insoluble in dry ipa)

Dry cold IPA or acetone will probably dissolve very little mescaline fumarates. Anyways you can save the wash and later use to recover possible alkaloid by any of the available means. Hot IPA or acetone might dissolve mescaline fumarate and be a way to recrystallize. Whatever you do, dont do one thing for all your stuff, do at least two, so you can compare the two different ways.

BTW, I dont get why you find "washing with water several times and discarding water" something that is hard to do on your situation. You dont waste any more limo than how you are doing with FASW anyways.

well considering the simplicity of water washing, i might just have to do that, about how many washes to clean your limo of ipa?

I dont know how many but I would do as many as you have patience to (5? 10?). Wash until you dont smell any IPA/acetone and then wash a few more times.
