I'm fairly excited as I have just ordered a "Big Medicine" phalaris plant.

For awhile now I had been growing Reed Canary from seed along with chamomile, catnip, and a mystery herb that was supposed to be Rosemary, but most deffinetly is not. Realizing that phalaris alkaloid content is all over the map I was kind of just doing it to enjoy the journey, get to know the plant from the beginning of its life, and as a experiment. However, a recent miscalculation lead to root burn, which lead to the plants not taking in water, which lead to bugs, which lead to me trying to dry them in the heat outdoors to avoid chemical solutions, which killed a lot of it.

So I broke down and got a starter of this popular mutant to make me feel better for killing things. It will be a fairly interesting experiment in itself as I will get to test this proported fast spreading through rhizomes. I intend to put them in a big long window box like tray I have and watch to see for myself. If it does well I intend to clone it into the other tray that contains some reed canary that is still alive and healthy.
