So, I've been using psychedelics for years now. Mostly shrooms and graduated to dmt. So far I've used dmt a few times with intense dosages and several times in small doses.

I took a break from dmt for awhile and experimented with ayahuasca. I found it nice and overall a different experience than vaporized dmt. However, I recently decided to try vaporized dmt again. The past 2 hits I took, although not big, experienced next to nothing (subtle threshold effects). Kind of surprised me but I started wondering if possibly something I take could be blocking the effects. Right now I have succumbed to daily kratom use, which I understand contains indoles. I have also started continuing my use of the anti-convulsant drug levetiracetam, which I found out "inhibits communication between the two halves of the brain". Could this have something to due with the recent lack of effects?

I wouldn't be surprised if a drug that inhibits communication between the hemispheres consequently diminished the effects of DMT. DMT seems to me to be mostly a right brained experience, so if you can't get that experience to the left brain (ego: you) then I could see that inhibiting DMT's exerted effects.

If your past 2 hits weren't big, make them bigger. Up the dosage by 5mg. Make sure you're holding it in as long as you can. And good luck Thumbs up

Yeah, I know I'm using it right (always hold my hit) and had people who experienced good effects from the same stuff.

Someone said that nootropics can enhance the effects of DMT and I remember reading that levetiracetam is structurally similar to the nootropic piracetam, which apparently "promotes inter-hemispherical communication via corpus callosum." Which is how I came to suspect the drug I'm taking. I'm going to take a break from the use of these soon to test my hypothesis.

Another question has popped into my mind. Since piracetam is a 'smart drug' and levetiracetam has an opposite effect, does this mean I'm taking a dumb drug?

It should seem that desynchronizing the hemispheres would dumb one down some.

I'm not a scientist or doctor, but I do hold the opinion that more times than not, people get locked out of hyperspace due to a lack of integration rather than a chemical reason.

I could be completely wrong, as I am not familiar with the drugs you are taking. I'm not trying to judge in any way, but daily kratom use is probably not healthy or conducive to you taking steps to grow as a person.

It may very well be the medication you are taking, but I would experiment with decreasing your kratom use next if that doesn't work.

I hope you find the experience you are looking for.
